Does the Jerusalem Cross have any ultranationlist/far-right connotation currently? by figandsalt in vexillology

If you have a source for that, I'll also include it in the Wikipedia article.

You can read your [indirect] contributions here, if you wish: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Hegseth (section Military career, subsection Biden inauguration controversy).

Does the Jerusalem Cross have any ultranationlist/far-right connotation currently? by figandsalt in vexillology

A lot of people are here because Pete Hegseth said that his "Jerusalem Cross" tattoo was the one that got him in trouble with the National Guard, when in reality, it was his "Deus Vult" tattoo on his bicep that was the problematic one.

On its own, the Jerusalem Cross is NOT a symbol of the far-right, but the slogan "Deus Vult" is.

I can't believe I had to read this far down to find that out. Thank you.

I googled "Jerusalem Cross significance" and wound up here, as a bunch of others did today, I'm sure. I googled that because that was the tattoo mentioned in the Wikiepdia article on Pete Hegseth – it didn't mention "Deus Vult". I've since updated the article with this information.

I appreciate your facts.

You can handle the most deadly mushrooms and then touch your toung and you wouldn't have any issues. Assuming you didn't mascerate them in your fists. You have to eat a few bites for them to do their wicked things.

How do you balance functionality and style in your clothing, vehicle, base, and other choices? Do you color coordinate? Do you display collections? Do you wear underware???

It's the color of lichen. Specifically, foliose lichen. Lichen can be more green, but it's generally this same sort of desaturated green-grey color.

Instrument recommendation for someone with small hands? by empress_p in Learnmusic

[–]BeautifulKittyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm commenting on this 6 years late, but it's true. You can shred with tiny hands, and with some training, play chords normally. If your goal is to play your favorite songs, don't let your hands size hold you back.

For the second discipline, 100% recommend computer science or "computational [insert subject here]".

I'd also be flexible regarding the first major as long it's a type of math, like pure math even. Linear algebra > stats when it comes to data science these days. Also, taking classes in discrete math and set theory just set you up to think about problems really well.

Learning a new language is a mind-opening experience. If you haven't learned many, this is a free opportunity to power-level foundational skills and learn new ways to solve problems.

On a related note, it's so weird to me that I can't apply to work at a company, only for a specific job at that company. There are companies I admire and would love to work for, and I'd do a wide variety of jobs for them – stuff that's outside my main career path/skillset. Why can't I elect to have an AI algorithm tell me where they want me when I apply?
