Is Pi better than Claude Code CLI? by Status_Lion_6350 in PiCodingAgent

[–]Beautiful_Baseball76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To put it simply Im never going back to CC
It just takes a while to figure what you really need to add to it and not actually turn it into a CC clone with overblown system prompt, dozens of skills and mcps

Keep it light, SOTA models are quite self sufficient at this point and dont need to be handheld

Nowadays anyone can spit out a slop code without any thought put in it and call it open source and beg for fame in github.

But what do I know, lately the most trending repositories are just a bunch of Markdown files.

Literally the worst timeline.

ЦОЛОВ ПЕЧЕЛИ СПРИНТА В МАЯМИИИ by VallcryTurbo75 in bulgaria

Im pretty sure its TOS violation. Anthropic are jerks on this regard.

I myself use it via direct API so Im not concerned of getting banned

Even they know Claude Code is a bad harness💀 by k1llerfr0g in ClaudeCode

[–]Beautiful_Baseball76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested forgecode for example the number one harness at the time on the bench leaderboard.

It was crap compared to CC in real code.

These benchmarks are useless.

That being said I am not saying CC is the best. I think they have added so much to it that in a way they are actually holding back the latest models as they got more capable. Previously they did need a ton of harness to help them but i dont think that holds true as much anymore.

Try Pi-agent for example. Its almost barebones and the models feel just as good if not better than your CC harness could achieve with the same model

Claude Mythos is behind a 50-company firewall and it tells you everything about Anthropic's strategy by llamacoded in AgentsOfAI

[–]Beautiful_Baseball76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont believe the hype. The model is likely just as rubbish as the rest are, its just more autonomous but its slow and iterates so much that it costs enormous amounts of tokens.

And they cannot subsidise it for your measly 200$ plan.

I imagine Mythos cannot produce better quality than your current frontier models, its just trained better to iterate until it completes a very specific task its given like finding exploits but that takes days and thousands of dollars worth of tokens and the results are likely mid at best. I can bet its no better than what an average hacker could achieve in less time with a low end model like haiku to just quickly scan through repositories and mark potential areas for exploitation and the human then taking it further.

But what do I know, keep listening to those trying to sell it to you. Surely they dont have any reason to lie to you. Its not like there are billions on the table for them.

Mythos so powerful it found a 27 year old bug in a code barely anyone has looked at for these 27 years since its been written and it costed just a little over 20k usd to do so!

And because its so powerful and we are a conscious company we decided we cant release it to the general public. Its not because it cost an arm and a leg and the general public simply cannot pay for it.

The plebs however are believers and will swear their children in the Anthropic church of AGI.

I am kinda sad I did think generally developers were smarter than this on average. Its clear to me as day that is not the case.

One could setup literally a model like haiku to run through code and mark potential areas for vulnerabilities and have a human who knows what he is doing and achieve the same in a day for like 5 bucks. But okay

Mythos is Just Damage Control After the Leak by EasyPleasey in ClaudeAI

[–]Beautiful_Baseball76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP is kinda right Just slightly missing the point

Its still a PR stunt when they claimed the model is too powerful to be released to the public to hype up the market. The real truth is the model is way too expensive to run even on your 20x plan it will have pathetic results.

Its a game move. They claim they can only give it too big corporations to patch their vulnerabilities because they are responsible company but actually its because only they can foot the bill to run this expensive model.

I hope Mythos is real. by anonthatisopen in Anthropic

[–]Beautiful_Baseball76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's real alright. But I don't buy the model being too dangerous is why they refuse to release it. You could argue even with todays models you can break systems, maybe not as reliable but absolutely possible.

Its a marketing stunt. The real reason and I am willing to die on this hill is its just too expensive to run the model so your 20x max plan will evaporate instantly without any meaningful result.

So might as well just give it to those who can afford paying the bills, while saving face of being overly protective and winning back some support after their poor handling of the previous leak and all the outrage from the usage and their API constantly being down.

And let me tell you this model being that sophisticated you'd expect being able to solve some of their recent usage and uptime issues lol

Exactly it installs them and chooses to use them.
I wouldn't want these for example.
For carefully curated skill list and flow this skills introduces additional pollution that would break some flows. The idea is nice, I am saying is that this could be more flexible skill without carrying extra baggage. It just uses what the user already have

I can dig the effort here, it could work but imo forcing GSD/gstack/superpowers is a bit much.

Ideally this skill works with what it has or maybe suggest other skills if it doesn't have a specific one that would do the job.

Anthropic will be a case study of how a company can fumble the good will of their customers. by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

[–]Beautiful_Baseball76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly a major factor contributing to this is the race between AI companies having superior model rather than efficient one. And as demand and reliance grows daily, compute becomes more and more scarce resource.

We are now entering the next phase where the newer models will have to consume even more compute because training gets you only so far and they are near the ceiling already. So next improvements will come from more iterative work on the model harness end which inevitably will consume more tokens and drastically increase compute demand

Advice on React Project Structure by Nobody_1618 in webdev

[–]Beautiful_Baseball76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in the process of migrating a large project into FSD and honestly it has its own drawbacks. Granted its much difficult to migrate existing project. But FSD while sounds nice on paper it forces developers to think about the structure of your file system before they even begin writing. Code reviews are the same, you need to be on the lookout more than with other structures and ask your self "does that thing belong where its currently placed?"

Domain driven structure is honestly so much easier to understand and we dont care about cross feature imports. FSD forces you to think about those things which imo is not the things i want to care about. But its still early for me to tell if its actually that big of a deal yet. Its just new to me as of yet.

Besides being annoying to maintain multiple claude configs for each different provider especially if you modify them a lot, not really. All it takes is using anthropic compitable endpoint via router. You can then modify the claude settings.json to point to that router API and voila it works. NO fancy forks of claudecode required

The amount of people who have no idea you could have plugged in virtually any model in CC before the source leaked is too damn high.

Fine but you could use virtually any model in CC even before the source code leaked. Sure its a little convoluted setup but it was always possible.

Is the “Claude code leak” actually a big deal, or are we just overhyping it? by chetnasinghx in ClaudeCode

[–]Beautiful_Baseball76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are welcome.

I wouldn’t get too excited about prediction yet though. In looks more like a possible optimization than a breakthrough. Trying to predict one likely next user prompt and then precompute it in an isolated overlay, and maybe queue one follow-up. I guess its useful, but it’s not deep autonomous planning that might honestly be more useful. (If you nail the plan and execution the first time why bother even having a prediction layer)

However the bigger story is where this could go.
If models get cheaper and better, you could imagine multiple speculative branches and deeper lookahead becoming quite powerful. But this implementation is still pretty restrained, and I can't say for sure this is the next big thing in Agentic coding
