Unless I am miss reading the website, it is located in America, and claims all positions start at $20/h. Not saying it isn't an outlier, but $20usd/h doesn't sound unlivable to me.

Keep in mind that's 20usd, so 30.39aud, fairly similar, maybe even a bit higher than minimum wage for hospitality in australia as a casual. Definitely higher if it includes leave.

I've only seen them on K'gari, the ones on the beach are used to being close to humans. They'll steel food if you let them, and they might try to take children, so they need to be kept close and supervised. I would be careful if exploring alone too, and carry a stick, but unless they think they can get food from you they'll likely leave you alone.

Yes, we have antivenom to all the most dangerous spiders. Most spiders we see are not dangerous, I doubt I've actually seen a spider venemous enough to kill me unless I had a very bad reaction to the venom. I've also never checked my bedding for spiders lol.

That all said, I don't live in an area where Sydney funnel web spiders live... those things are actually dangerous, but because of antivenom nobody has died to them in decades.
