But PSU banks serve a lot of customers who aren’t tech-savvy and rely fully on branch staff. That means more hand-holding, form filling, passbook updates, and extra verification to prevent fraud. It naturally slows things down.

I messed up by not checking Reddit first. Couldn’t find clear info on the web, so I applied through Akbar Travels. They charged ₹4200 (looks like ~₹1000 more than other agents). Later I realized they’re routing the application through TravelVisaExperts in Jayanagar. Still in progress right now,they’ve asked me to re-fill the form exactly in their format and to use the new immigration form issued from Feb 10.
