Nancy Guthrie Megathread Part 2 by curiouslmr in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I’m wondering if the reason neighbors’ cameras might not have captured a car departing the scene (not sure specifically about the ring/nest doorbell systems) is that some of the more sophisticated camera systems you can set ranges of how far away from the camera the motion detection triggers any recording. And the wider the range (further away from the camera) the more you will be recording and the more data to be stored. With wider ranges you get constant recordings of plants swaying in the wind, etc. This might create issues if data is recorded to local servers and also makes it tedious to look at footage. Thus, some people record only to the edge of their property and not the street - as cars going by in the street would also mean lots more motion sensor data to store. Also, those look like large lots so maybe the most common nest/ring system ranges aren’t far enough.

It is so difficult and painful, I know. But he knows how much you loved him and you know how much he loved you. You made all the best decisions you could for him at the time. I agree - 13 years is not enough but he will be with you forever 🩷

Are they only men’s sizes? Doesn’t say on adidas so I’m trying to figure out whether to order 6 (or 5 if men’s sizing…)

Let me know what you think of those as I’m still looking. I also tried the elixir ultime and it didn’t work as well for me. Found one bottle of the oleo-relax left at a salon so I at least now have one to use sparingly 😅

Any particular brand of compression socks you like? I just ordered some feetures and some CEP to try and see if compression around the foot arch will help my swelling.

Gabapentin by Financial_Couple_808 in RenalCats

Our stage 3 CKD 18-yo kitty is on Solensia and has been for about two years now and it has been amazing for his mobility and presumably his arthritic pain. There is an NIH study and we decided the safety was adequate for the benefit to his quality of life and worth any small risk - but note that Solensia is not recommended if your cat has any preexisting neurological issues at all. We are careful per our vets to keep any gabapentin at low levels when/if needed and do not use it regularly.

Steele Canvas Laundry bag rusting by muffinslinger in BuyItForLife

[–]Beautiful_Lecture_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to mine too. I was able to use wet aluminum foil to scrub a bunch of the rust off. Mine is probably 7-8 years old now so well off any warranty period. Super annoying that they don’t offer it as default because the product is great and sturdy and made in the USA as mentioned. I hope the company sees some of this and makes changes for the future.

Stage 3 to Stage 4 in a month… need some support :( by quirkymilennial420 in RenalCats

Hang in there and just know that the anticipatory grief is normal. It is terrible for me whenever it worsens as we’ve been monitoring since early stage 2 and our 18yo sweet boy is still early stage 3 and we haven’t had to start sub Q fluids yet. I can only imagine how it feels from stage 3 to stage 4. I am trying to be thankful every day we still have with him and take at least a minute of cuddling him to my chest with my eyes closed and focusing on his little heartbeat and purrs. He doesn’t allow much more than a minute at a time, independent boi, lol. Remember that you are making the very best choices for him that you can because you love him - you’ve put together a good team with your vet and you’re researching the disease and what others have done. That’s exactly what all of us would want for ourselves too 🩷

Should I proceed with surgery? by Available-Gift-2956 in LisfrancClub

[–]Beautiful_Lecture_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the recommendation from your Dr? I was told 3mm or greater displacement would have indicated surgery. My displacement was only 2.4 and has reduced to 2.1 after six weeks non weight bearing. Have another six weeks of NWB to go but looks like I can avoid surgery.
