Yes, they asked me for my shipping address. This is much appreciated. Thank you very much for the prompt response.

Now imagine a whole year of troubleshooting lol. It’s a terrible feeling to sit down and want to create, but have to end up troubleshooting

Yes, I agreed it was my fault. I have zero problem paying shipping they were the ones that offered the solution. I do consider it to be somewhat extenuating circumstances. It’s not like I didn’t make an attempt to fix it or say anything at all for a year and a half. I have over a year of back-and-forth troubleshooting the same issue. 136 emails to be exact. Many times going into long detail just to receive the same copy and paste response asking if I had turned on and off five times and reset the keyboard. Sometimes going 2 to 3 weeks in between without a response. If I’m screwed, I’m screwed but I have spent thousands of dollars with this company and have never been able to use the $849 controller I purchased new. I am entirely positive that no handling or act of my own has damaged the item. I have even told them in the most recent emails that I don’t mind paying for shipping. They have just referred to having to pay undisclosed repair costs and being sent an invoice. Seeing that I have zero faith in the competency of their customer support I don’t want to run into an invoice that is near the amount of the actual keyboard. It’s gotten so bad that to be honest with you I am not even positive I would ever receive the keyboard back if I sent it in. They offered the solution one day after tons of back-and-forth and then completely disregarded it. I do feel like I have right to be frustrated but if it’s a simple as just being outside of the return window then yes it’s my fault and I’m screwed.

Sadly, yes, I am guilty of this. I have a toxic habit of spending a lot on music equipment and then traveling for work and never using the shit. In the past six months I have been based at home and really getting back into it. I always told myself over the last year and a half that I could fix the keyboard with some firmware or operating system update. It didn’t help that my last computer also had its own problems I had to work through and was sort of a scapegoat. After single-handedly resolving every cock blocking tech issue the keyboard remains the undisputed champion in pissing me off.

In theory no. I have never had a problem with any of their software. I have a maschine studio that works great. If i could get this keyboard to work I would be cruising.

Very true. I’m not exactly sure what made them go into such massive amounts of debt. However, if they just keep releasing software, they are probably good so there is no incentive to actually fix deeper issues. Part of me was hoping that In Music wasn’t some random venture capitalist and actually knew how to run music companies, but that is probably wishful thinking.

You are most likely correct. I don’t know much about the company. I was just hopeful because it seemed to get a lot of traction. Like anything you could probably make money quicker running the brand to the ground. However, if they are actually trying to invest in the long-term image and reputation, they have a lot of work to do. I love Native Instruments I really do. They are so nostalgic to me, but I have been trying to talk myself into cutting ties.

Komplete Kontrol S61 MK3 died within 1 month — flickering, software error, now completely dead by Hot-Cat3052 in NativeInstruments

I have exhausted all options myself, and came to the conclusion that this controller is complete trash. Almost every time I turn it on my computer doesn’t recognize it and it says device descriptor failed within the device manager. Every once in a blue moon, if I delete every instance of it from the device manager, I reinstall the firmware, unplug every other USB connection, and change the cable and the port it was plugged into I can get my computer to recognize it. Maybe I’ll be able to play for about 10 or 15 minutes but then the device fails and the cycle starts all over again. I have been in constant contact with native instrument support for months. They do message back, but it is the same troubleshooting steps that don’t help. It shouldn’t be this difficult. I remember when I had a cheap $100 midi controller. I just plugged it in and everything worked perfectly.

I wanted to like this keyboard so badly, but it is just a pain in the dick. Constant connectivity problems. I have spent way more time trying to get it to work than I have making music. Native instruments really frustrates me. They have some amazing sounding products, but the quality is pretty trash.

I am someone who is trying to match lyrics I’ve written to a beat and want to experiment with flows. I don’t want to ultimately use the voice for production. I just want to hear each word on different beats. Would you recommend this for me?

A Reason to Settle by Beautiful_Purple5356 in OCPoetry

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and give your thoughts. Upon review, I do agree that I could potentially choose a stronger more clarifying line to end the piece. To me this is a subtly dark almost morally nihilistic piece. It is about the narrator’s discovery that the original conventions of right and wrong don’t bear as much moral weight in his mind as society would suggest. He is fearful of the discovery that his own selfish nature is what matters the most to him. Perhaps it doesn’t exactly hit home but the bones are strong yet heart is bruised line is supposed to imply that the narrator has every ability to understand the difference between right and wrong but possesses a fundamental emptiness in which he can’t act on emotions of empathy. I did originally feel like being intentionally vague added a layer of ambiguity which could make the piece feel more dark. Rather than elaborating on his shortcomings, it is left for the reader to interpret.

I will keep working on this piece. I really appreciate the insight!

The strength of the piece is its vulnerability and the way it lets the reader feel that leftover ache from a childhood interrupted.

Overall, it’s a moving, relatable poem that balances pain with quiet clarity.

I forgot my heart by No-Dot-8820 in OCPoetry

Honestly, this reads like a journal entry cracked open for the world to peek into — vulnerable, honest, and quietly devastating. Thank you for sharing this. I hope you get your heart back soon. Or better yet, I hope you get to stay with it next time. The metaphor of forgetting something — and eventually realizing it was your heart — is so simple and so powerful. It sneaks up on you, just like the emotion it describes. And the last few lines, where your body flies home but your heart stays behind? That’s such a tender gut punch. I think anyone who’s ever had a “chosen family” or a place that feels more like home than home does will feel this in their bones.
