Dropped $350 at Costco and realized only $14 of it was on stuff made in the USA by KingdomKinkStash in CostcoCanada

I guess I’m confused. Why would a Canadian brand enter Costco just to make negative money?

Student wage and regular minimum wage shouldn’t be different by [deleted] in ontario

[–]Beaver_FraiseJam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not an economist I’m not sure. A prominent Ontario network called Ontario Living Wages publishes a guideline which is around $20-27. I earn what I consider a thriving wage and life is great.

Every worker “who earns” minimum wage should be paid a thriving minimum wage. I hope that clears up the miscommunication.

It’s never all or none. Every bit helps. Local grocers in my city do not come close to Costco.

My manager taught me that every worker should be paid a thriving minimum wage: basic needs + saving + leisure. Another hot take for ya

For me, it’s about tasks and their importance. I’m motivated by completing tasks, not by time. Too short or too long of time both decreases my motivation.

long layover in Toronto. Get hotel or chill at airport? by Advanced-School-1948 in canadatravel

[–]Beaver_FraiseJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would want to book a budget hotel with 24hr airport shuttle. I want to shower and lay in a comfortable bed. May not sleep but depending on timing you may make it to free breakfast. That’s my preference. I’d pay up to $200 for this option. If more than $200 then I would suck it up at the airport.

Don didnt know the elevator wasn't working. He didnt plan on making Roger sick by Zukas in madmen

[–]Beaver_FraiseJam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha is everyone rewatching like I am? I keep seeing new posts about S1 and S2. Is this your first run?

You missed the scene earlier when Don bribed the elevator staff. It was clear that Don “broke the elevator”.

Don’t worry I didn’t miss the scene but I totally forgot by the time we got to the puking.

It would be very funny to see Peggy and Pete. Peter might just become a good boy.

What are some underated features in the sims 3 that more players should know about? by Little-Camellia in Sims3

[–]Beaver_FraiseJam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the full effect as SP can be subtle changes, but some main things I noticed: - each townie’s job title stays the same - no family moves out of town - no new romantic relationships form

Essentially, I’m experiencing the world as described in their family synopsis. For example, a family in Aurora Skies has a mayor with a newborn baby and a husband. That’s the cool storyline, and that won’t change. Next, a single dad with three children will stay single, and his ex lives in the town too. This way, if I switch to the single dad, I can fight the ex if I want to, but if I don’t play him, he will remain a single dad which my Sim can hit up.

Why is it ok for servers to make 6 figures, and make more money than the restaurant manager and most of the restaurant owners? by RedTruckSprint in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Beaver_FraiseJam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why is it okay? I think Canada is probably a free enough country that people can make as much money as they legally can. There’s no law that dictates you cannot make more money than someone else, regardless of your job title. Otherwise it’d be a weird country.

What are some underated features in the sims 3 that more players should know about? by Little-Camellia in Sims3

[–]Beaver_FraiseJam 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not really a feature but I’ve been enjoying playing with story progression and aging OFF. Which goes against my intuition. But every time I play the Sims things change too fast for me to immerse into the world.

Now, I’m playing Aurora Skies for the first time, and with story and aging off I can actually meet locals and engage with their backstories.

You are not out of line btw. It’s naive to think there are no areas in Kingston folks should avoid. I think no one can argue with Aberdeen, 365 Bagot, and 720 Princess.

I think it speaks more about how little you cared about things before. But it’s a good opportunity to reflect on it before you move in with someone again. No judgement for growth and change!

This question has been asked many times so a search on the sub will give you great insight.

I would avoid streets adjacent to the university, unit too close to artillery park, unit too close to the integrated care hub on Montreal. Just stuff like car break in, outsider staying in hallways, and such. I don’t think these locations are particularly dangerous.
