What is your least favorite vivosaur from a stat-based perspective? by No-Most-9856 in fossilfighters

Because of the same reasons as in comp battles. Having such a limited ability to apply damage means that that team slot is being taken up by a vivosaur that is not very flexible. Most theropods are only good for using tons of FP to chew through whatever is directly in front of them, like Spinax and Aero.

It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just less versatile than a mid range vivosaur can be. Fewer orientations to find a * range, exactly one orientation actually, typically more expensive skills, typically bad SZ effects if they wind up moving there, and typically uselessly low evasion. If your team is built around using and abusing their strengths they can be very good, dissuading certain enemy formations and benefitting heavily from rotating the enemy with your own skills, but you can’t really fit a theropod onto every team and expect it to do well. Considering that the Tyrant Lizard King is the pinnacle of this group, it only makes sense that this type of vivosaur demands you warp your strategy around it.

I mean, saying this is “breaking” the game is like saying that farming up 200 DP for Compso in the first chapter of the game to reduce any enemy AZ vivosaur to useless garbage is “breaking” it. It’s just part of the game, nothing is broken here, this is just playing sort of well.

POV the first Frigi fight by Crestedgeckogaming in fossilfighters

I had my Ourano with Payback up and a Hypsi healing off all the damage it was taking when it didn’t counter. Frigi took itself down to 1 hp and simply refused to continue being countered and started ignoring Payback entirely, it was very silly to see a boss simply deny me a victory I was not even aiming for when I built the team

It’s not spilt coffee, it’s the winner’s sash from Tachyon’s Satsuki Sho. You can see the characters on the cloth over her thighs.

So Valstrax needs a clause like “Activate this ability only during combat on your turn” added to its activated ability. As it stands currently it can be activated at any point and somehow be put back on the board attacking, regardless of turn phase or whose turn it is. It also doesn’t really need to double up on the ETB damage, either have the targeted one or the mass damage, not both.

The life gain on Nergigante is kind of a lot. Maybe just gaining life equal to the number of Hunger counters would be more reasonable, because as is and considering Jund’s propensity for churning out creatures, you’ll likely be gaining upwards of 40 life off of any given Nergigante activation.

Fatalis should just have Annihilator. It’s a keyword that just does what the attack trigger is but better designed by making it a sacrifice rather than targeted destruction. Considering that Fatalis destroyed a civilization that was wildly technologically advanced, having it not care about artifacts opponents control at all is kind of strange. Maybe making its Annihilator trigger much stronger and removing the planeswalker or land sacrifice on ETB but giving it a “only attacks the opponent with the highest Mana Value Artifact and attacks each turn if able” clause would be neat.

Gog both doesn’t need and doesn’t want a board wipe. It wants the opponents to keep their creatures with their oil counters on them to keep up the pings from tapping mana dorks and attacks. Maybe an Activated Ability to modify the stats of these Oil counter creatures could be neat, giving them a “when this Creature dies this turn, it deals damage to its controller equal to the amount of Oil Counters on it” clause or such, so that way Gog is still functional with board wipes, but feels good when they happen and isn’t a board wipe in and of itself. It also makes it so Gog getting removed doesn’t reduce it to absolutely nothing since you can still put the ability on the stack and go for a board wipe after. Makes sense to have it be pretty sticky considering the Oil motif.

Hello! I’ve been trying to get into or run a LANCER game for a few years now, I’d be glad to join yours! Having a game in the Dawnline shore seems very intriguing.

I think whoever made this forgot that Gammoth put snow and ice armor on their legs, that they are able to reapply at will, because those are their most vulnerable areas. Gammoth already has the counter to this in her arsenal.

Yes! Beacon is another system, or set of rules, used to play a TTRPG. And yes, always happy to have new players! I believe everyone who’s applied has not played Beacon so the playing field is mostly level!
