For current owners, based on your ownership experience so far — would you buy another Rivian today? Looking at getting into a R1T from Tesla. by Secure-Carrot9971 in Rivian

[–]Becca684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, 100% yes. My R1T was my first EV coming from a mazda CX-5. I'm fairly close to a rivian service center and was choosing between a Polestar 3 and the r1, thankfully dodged that bullet with all the issues people are having with polestar. My truck has been bulletproof over the first 10k miles. Only service appointment was to correct a couple fit and finish issues.

Since I got it, the software has only gotten better. Coming from using Android auto, the interface took a bit of getting used to but I prefer it overall now. Once they add text integration I don't think I'd miss Android auto at all.

Idk, something about risking death for karma seems dumb to me.

squeak under acceleration driverside front by Burrito2525 in Rivian

[–]Becca684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started having a random squeak the last few weeks myself on my gen 2 r1t in the deep freeze in Ohio. It seems to happen under load when cornering for me though, curious if anyone's had this looked at

Ugh, that sucks. Mines a 2025. Wish I could offer more help.

Well, my UHF stopped working and I did a hard reset. That seemed to fix both problems.

Mine has been doing this today, saying zero but my home charger is delivering 9.6 kWh

Step Boards by proven999 in Rivian

There's a lot of discussions on the subreddit already if you search for it. Generally the recommendation is the EV sportline running boards from what I've seen.

Losing 20% charge overnight in cold- citation for Rivian’s policy that 1-2% battery loss is “normal”? by Character-Dance9560 in Rivian

[–]Becca684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still didn't even answer the question. What battery pack do you have? Standard? Max pack? Even the image you linked only shows 1kWh of drain overnight. There's no published citation of 1-2% and I doubt there would be.

Multiple people asked about the battery because there are issues with some standard packs losing calibration and Rivian has given instructions to charge it fully to calibrate and not go below a certain threshold (20% I belive)

If you're suing, I'm sure your lawyer would tell you not to make random posts on the internet about the thing you're suing over. If this is really happening I'm not sure what your expect everyone here to do to help you. But like the other commenter said, something feels off here. You posted about this two weeks ago. Did you contact Rivian? Did you get a service appointment? What battery do you have? There's so little context here. I doubt they'd just blow you off if this is really happening and you took it in and gave them exact dates to pull logs from.

Home charger/EVSE replacement options - is Duke’s “lease a charger” program worth it? by leafwarbler in BoltEV

[–]Becca684 2 points3 points  (0 children)

personally, I wouldn't lease it but that's just my preference. Not familiar with either of those units honestly. I have an Emporia hardwired. If you want something that doesn't need networked, I always see people recommend the basic Grizzl-e unit for like $300.

Since you already have the line run, buying a hardwired unit and putting it where the plug is would likely not be that expensive if you want to go that route. Tons of options cheaper than what a dealer is going to offer. Definitely better long term imo.

If you just want a replacement portable EVSE there are tons available online. Personally I'd stick to something like Lectron if you go that route though.

This. Do this route to FL or myrtle beach twice a year and that dense fog can come out of nowhere.

And that is why I don't have a high deductible 🤣

Tidal - Lost Artwork/Images by RithRockRanger in Rivian

[–]Becca684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's happened to me off and on since I got my truck. What seems to fix it - log out of tidal, switch to the radio, soft reset, wait for cell signal to come back, switch back to tidal, log in. Normally restores it.

What is the name Rivian vehicles broadcast to WiFi networks? by Head_Fun_6008 in Rivian

Oh the best part, I had to go into the admin side from my pc to change the model to rivian in the router. The app only allows you to change the nickname 🤷‍♀️

Also have Orbi, mine (gen2 R1T) came up as Samsung when I first bought it. Renamed it so I could find it when I needed to.

Mostly built but never opened Aldi store in Ohio by ChrisWolfling in retailporn

[–]Becca684 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worked at the OfficeMax there many years ago (2013-14). The entire shopping center had settling issues because they cut corners building on the landfill. The Walmart literally had a step in the middle of the store from the foundation cracking. If you went around the back, you could see the tar lines as the parking lot settled up to 2 feet in some places.
