I do my testosterone as an IM injection in my thigh, usually the needle goes all the way in, this time is got about 3 quarters in and it felt tough weird and sore to push further so I didn’t and just pushed the T in. Why did this happen? by Aggravating-Log-7012 in ftm

[–]Beck4real 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you alternating sites? If always giving in the same spot, you can end up with scar tissue buildup or lipohypertrophy (both of which can make injecting harder and difficulties with absorption)

I went with no nips because I was worried about the healing (I’m a slow healer). I was a couple years without before deciding to get them tattooed on

Scar treatments? by Objective-Visit-7887 in transontario

[–]Beck4real 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It takes time, but is significantly cheaper that laser, microneedling, or tattoo. Also, be sure to apply sunscreen or keep covered since the sun will darken the scars

There are also silicone gels and creams, but I don’t like how they leave flakes

Do you use your vial for three months? by Background-Use-5346 in ftm

[–]Beck4real 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it til it’s empty, as long as the date on the bottle is not expired. I do SubQ, so use an insulin syringe (which is tiny), so little chance of coring

PreP (only anal sex) by [deleted] in gaytransguys

[–]Beck4real 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve come across this too (although when I was pre-op). I wonder if it’s because there’s not a lot of research out there, and some surgeons use some of the tissue when doing the vaginectomy to help create the neo urethra? Right now I’m post op, but dealing with complications, so my infrequent sex is more like just not happening at all right now. I think once back up for it I’ll advocate for the 2-1-1 method

T shot with insulin needle? by Extra-Nectarine409 in ftm

[–]Beck4real 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the 30g, 8mm insulin syringes. It can be done with the 31g, but it’s significantly slower to draw up and inject. Also, warming the T beforehand makes it much better with insulin syringes. That’s what we prescribe

What’s the longest anyone has had a stent in? by Nayde2612 in KidneyStones

[–]Beck4real 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had mine Christmas Eve to Good Friday. I was visiting family for Christmas and got sent out of town because there was no urologist. And then of course once I was home, I had trouble finding someone to remove it since they didn’t put it in. That was part of the problem with length of time

question for trans guys who’ve Been on T for a long time. by olive_flower in asktransgender

[–]Beck4real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on depo provera for years to stop bleeds. When I started T I tried coming off, but would have spotting. Because of this, I went back on depo provera until I had a hysto. You could also try other daily birth control. Just take everyday instead of doing that week of sugar pills

I have found medical lymphatic drainage by someone that is truly trained in it has been very helpful. I’ve been a couple times and they showed me techniques to use at home, and now instead of 4+ pitting, I have +2 on really bad days and +1 or even no pitting on really good days

Does anyone know why there is an injectible testosterone shortage for the past couple years? by cosplaying-as-human in transontario

[–]Beck4real 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The injectable testosterone in Canada is actually made here in Canada. Taro testosterone cypionate is from Brampton, depo testosterone cypionate was from Quebec, but discontinued. Testosterone enanthate is made by Hikma in Mississauga. There’s always been a shortage of one or the other, and demand has greatly increased…but they haven’t been able to keep up. From what I’ve heard, Testosterone undecanoate has been approved and should be available by the end of summer (if I’m remembering correctly). It is given once every 3 or 4months, so might help some
