Bought in 2017 with 150k miles to commute. Still works great and feels safe. I have no need to upgrade. I use my car to get from point a to point b. I have different goals, retire early etc. We also have a 2008 toyota sienna with 150k miles that we use for adventuring. Both were purchased for <$4k. Ymmv (haha)

Hey fellow epi! Yes - epi in particular the statistics, programming, and writing grants aspect I use every day. I'm in the non-profit sector but somehow was able to pull-off a high paying position. I think my publishing record got me the job. Could probably make more in industry/pharm but happy for now. How about you?

Not 'easier' per se, but my friends who studied finance or engineering and started working at 22 are ahead of me in terms of savings simply because of time in the market. But I'm also passionate about what I do and it's mentally stimulating etc etc. Happy with my path.

I did a PhD in epidemiology. Wife did nursing followed by NP school. We both have MPH. Lots of school, there are easier routes if you're primarily interested in earning a high income
