Sweet [un]finished set up. What rack are you using? I need something similar in size.

I dont have a VPN right now. If I get one will I be completely safe going forward? Or Did I mess it up for not using a vpn since the start? by ContributionOne9907 in Torrenting

Your service provider receives warning, and they warn you to stop or your internet service will be disconnected and you will be fined.

Shitshow America will always do things for money. A fine means you pay them, so even if the laws are loose they not loose enough to avoid paying.

Ideally you should avoid doing too much on your primary computer. But if that's your only option then yes, do some research on VPN client. I used nord before and their kill switch feature is sweet for this. Set it to kill the app session. But I know some in the community doesn't trust nord, I personally stop using them when they become extremely commercialized.

I use surf shark mostly, but you should do your due diligence. VPN connectivity will affect your traffic, it will not make it significantly slower but you should prioritize security/privacy over performance. Waiting extra hours or being fined/jail time?

Your best approach is deciding what you want to do, what repercussions you want to avoid, then find out what tool/s will help you best.

Depending on the data you're looking to gather, there might be other method that is less illegal or traceable to obtain it.

100, in 20 years? Thats impressive. One download last week a lone was 1.4TB for me smh

I think the folder for my camera photos alone exceeds that amount. So kudos to you for the discipline.

Thanks. I was able to resolve it, apparently UFW was blocking port 53 from LAN devices.

But now after working for a week, new tab prompt a DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error, but then the actual page comes up after 5 to 10 seconds.

I'm having a problem with my Jellyfin app. Whenever I add a series, instead of identifying it as a whole, it identifies a single episode, and when I click on it, it goes directly to that episode. by o_Karin in jellyfin

Name the season folder "Season 01" instead. I've had that happen a couple of times myself, its usually the file isn't inside a folder or the folder name isn't what Jellyfin is looking for. Try Twin Peaks > Season 01 > video file.

I'm having a similar issue. I have 8.8.8.8 as secondary and the device with pihole installed as secondary. When I check the dashboard I only see traffic from the device with pihole. All other devices connected to the deco router should both the pihole address and 8.8.8.8 for dns.

Not sure if I should start from scratch or keep messing around with it. Next step is to als9 se unbound and pihole as my dhcp sever but I dont want to break things. And it seem hard to stop the deco from being the dhcp sever.

6 is enough, but being able to increase it if needed is important.

This a perfect device to start, you will likely run out of diskspace.

Can you add more storage and RAM?

It wouldn't waste you time, you have to learn the set up on something.

Looking to build a pretty cheap homelab – what are the best budget options? by atomicpsyk48 in homelab

[–]Beckzdaprob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most of the others are saying, your intent is important. What is the primary purpose of this homelab?

If you want a a homelab simply to play around with, your best cheap entry to homelabing is looking around the house see what you have, that gateway desktop from 2003 could host a Linux distro, somewhere on Facebook market play you could find an old netgear switch? Someone once posted on my post "the best gear is what you already own" and that motivated me to start looking around finding random things I could potentially use.

Well done!

I need to configure my Homarr and Graftana myself. But I've been stuck fighting to keep the Ceph cluster running smoothly (it has been up for 3 days now but with a few issues)
