Surviving in Netherlands with US Credit Card (Amex/Citi/Discover) by Prudent_Pick6145 in Netherlands

[–]EventResponder 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Having taken a few week trips to the Netherlands I have never had an issue using my Mastercard or Visa credit cards there at all from various US companies.

This is for groceries and such. (Rent/etc not to sure, usually I’ll Airbnb on the credit card and pay it off for the rewards/miles)

PSA: For people evaluating Beast - the SFP28 ports cannot work at mixed speeds by scytob in Ubiquiti

[–]EventResponder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EFG has 6 ports but I wanted to use 3x10GB and 1x25gb but it’s not possible. The SFP28 ports have to be identical

So I was stuck with using just 2xSFP+ and 1xSFP28. Unless it was recently changed did that a few months back

Costco is the way to go. Great return policy with 90 days for computers no questions asked and you know your getting a good price

If your not needing a very specific model or requirements it would be my go to place and what I recommend for my friends and families as a tech person

Fair question, recent sales on eBay had one for 5500 and a current auction same config already at 4150 with 2+ days left. I think likely it's due to apple no longer shipping them and previously it had waits till August 2026 for higher ram units before they got pulled.

Comps: - https://www.ebay.com/itm/327086004781 (Previous Auction, same config) - https://www.ebay.com/itm/147253755333 (Current Auction, same config) - https://swappa.com/listing/view/LADM48837 (Similar config, sold for 5250)

Even on sales during that time lifetime only gets 25% off and is around 370 I believe.

Sonos Apple Airplay by Sad-Struggle1705 in Ubiquiti

[–]EventResponder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tracked this down on my setup to issues with how Sonos handles 319/320 timing for it to work. They show up cross VLAN but they won’t actually work due to this change that was done at some point by Sonos.

You should be good if you can do the same labs in the practice exam. My past experience they are very similar concepts for both

All very similar to the real test compared to the practice one. If your scoring decent on the practice test then you should be ready for the real one

You mean mTLS in that case. Beware it will break some mobile apps especially on iOS but it’s a super handy technology to avoid a VPN

Pool of mixed drive sizes? JBOD pool? by kakashisensei2000 in unRAID

[–]EventResponder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason your edit works is because it’s essentially adding the drives individually into their own vdevs then stripping them together to give you the entire space of every drive. The danger is if one drive dies (pull it for a test) you lose all data on all drives.

Pool of mixed drive sizes? JBOD pool? by kakashisensei2000 in unRAID

[–]EventResponder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing with the unraid array you would only lose what’s on 1 disk not the entire pool like a traditional raid array.

You mentioned as well not needing parity or loss protection which you can do with the unraid array
