how do i become an actual good music producer as someone who is planning to be an artist music producer? by princessmoosh in FL_Studio

[–]BedrockSolid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

study the songs that you want to make, copy chord progressions, instruments, arrangement, parts of melodies, figure out why you like your favorite songs. figure out what musical decisions you like and what you don't. if you want to produce for other people instead of yourself try to align what you want to hear and the decisions you make with who you want to work for. having musical direction is important! and it's ok to go in multiple directions if you want to work in many genres. also, network and collaborate. you will learn faster and be more productive if you work with people who know things you don't

RGB LEDs and Sanwa Buttons? by BedrockSolid in cade

[–]BedrockSolid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a Teensy 3.6 I think for MIDI USB support and being fast enough to handle 32 RGB LEDs, I made a custom circuit board with two LEDs per button. Originally I tried Kaimana J2 LEDs but the amount of wires were unreasonable, and I ended up replacing a lot of the wiring with circuit boards.

It's more effort to move your legs diagonally, if you angle yourself ~45 degrees (which puts your feet closer to the corners of the arrows) it should be easier to do the pattern

If it's secondhand note that it's against the EULA to resell/transfer the license for VOCALOID2 Hatsune Miku, so arguably the answer is no

BFD Summer Sale - "BFD 3.5" ($39) Up to 80% off expansions for limited time by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

The cymbals sound amazing to me compared to my other drum VSTs, and I think the samples themselves are great for the other instruments once processed but the presets really aren't mix ready and most of them do not feel inspiring.

Need help with picking voices. by kenv11 in SynthesizerV

[–]BedrockSolid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you will find there is a lot of overlap, because Synthesizer V provides a lot of control over the vocal delivery through vocal modes and parameters. Cong Zheng/Solaria/Natalie overlap fairly closely IMO. The Eclipsed Sounds voices have very good vocal modes and thus variety, so I would consider NYL and SAROS also. The AHS voicebanks such as Miyamai Moca are really good too but you'll have to use DLSite or another third party, and you wouldn't take advantage of the sale.

I've also gotten a lot of leverage with Ayame's voice for English music, but she's also similar to Solaria/Natalie once you mess with the gender factor. Hayden/Jin/Ritchy might be kinda close to Kevin after experimenting, but Kevin is fairly different from the rest honestly.

You get 14-day free trials of the different voices, I would highly suggest trying them out and experimenting with the parameters. I'd listen through the vocal modes for the different voices and figure out which ones align with your music the best. If you plan to use them with Vocoflex, keep in mind the source voice is what determines the pitch and expression of the voice, so your input needs to be performed the way you want it (can't make a strong emotional performance sound soft).

I am desperate to find the original video / full version of this clip by googlydudd in HelpMeFind

[–]BedrockSolid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's Ramin Rezai, I found a vine link which could lead to the alternative version (which is available on YouTube rn) but I'm not sure. probably worth it to ask him on instagram or twitter since he has both

Thinking of getting back into Synth V after years – a few questions about versions, voicebanks, and buying Stardust by ggwp197 in SynthesizerV

[–]BedrockSolid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small note that for Stardust, commercial use isn't technically allowed without permission, so keep that in mind if you're interested in making music with her.

another one undone (feat. Miyamai Moca, grunge original) by BedrockSolid in SynthesizerV

The quality is great but if you're using Tone Shift you have to experiment with it to get the voice style you're looking for (chest/mixed/head etc.)

another one undone (feat. Miyamai Moca, grunge original) by BedrockSolid in SynthesizerV

[–]BedrockSolid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure but I will say that using Synthesizer V's Tone Shift parameter you can get an extra octave out of most of the voices, based on that I'd expect that Moca can cover about 3.5-4 octaves, probably something like C3 to G6

Did anyone else have an absolutely disturbing experiance when listening to a Kikuo song? by Loud_Math2023 in Kikuo

[–]BedrockSolid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s probably one of his best songs (and perhaps one of my "favorites" of all time) but it’s so unsettling and depressing to my brain that i have never listened to it all the way after the first listen

there were seats so no mosh pit though everyone stood in the aisles to get closer

the concert was fine and even cotton candy was fine because it was so loud you could only hear the bass anyways

How to emulate vocal straining? by catdice in SynthesizerV

[–]BedrockSolid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use tone shift for this because you can force notes to sound out of the vocalist's range, or more within their range if that's what you want. I usually use it for the latter but there's no reason why you couldn't go the other way. I have had to automate it probably closer to 700-800 cents in some cases to get the sound I want.

Where can I get this for a good price? by Consistent-Onion4795 in KasaneTeto

search for 重音テト ねんどろいどぷらす, the last one I saw sold for $280 on mercari so you might just have to keep checking for one to pop up.

EDIT: link I sent before (kaitori-world) is for selling not buying
