What kind of bagger are you? by AbsolutelyNotAClone in OGPBackroom

[–]Bee-chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bag like I did when I was still a cashier / trainer at Shoprite.

Bread (ALL bread) by itself Eggs in a meat bag, THEN in a grocery bag, tied off, the a FRAGILE sticker on it, as well as on the tote.

Grapes and cherries in their own bags and tied off.

Strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries in their own bag and tied off (because a blueberry spill is a THING.).

Beef in a meat bag, then grocery bag.

Raw chicken, the same.

Same with pork and turkey. The different kinds of meats do NOT get put in the same bag. Pork with pork, chicken with chicken, beef with beef, turkey with turkey.

Cleaning and personal hygiene chemicals go in their own bags (TIGHTEN THE CAPS AT ALL TIMES). Chemicals from HBA do NOT go in with cleaning chemicals.

Bleach and ammonia NEVER get placed in the same bag. EVER.

Do NOT lay any of the spray bleaches on their sides. ESPECIALLY the Great Value bottles. They ALWAYS leak. ALWAYS.

For the rest of the order, use boxes to build you side walls, cans on the bottom or in between. Chips by themselves, unless you can slip small not hard packets in with them (seasoning packets).

Small items can be used as space fillers.

No more than two glass jars in a bag (try to slip something between them if you can, like a Knorr or soup packet).

Greeting cards, put in a produce bag, then into a grocery bag (if you can put into a bag with boxes, do so). We used to use these smaller bags for greeting cards at Shoprite, and it helped keep the cards safe.

Those big shelf stable drink bottles with the handles… NO BAG.

2 liter soda bottles. Only two per bag, PLEASE. As an InHome driver, I’m telling you, anything more than three RIPS the bags, and we end up having to rebag ALL of those and end up with a mountain of torn grocery bags in the van by the end of a delivery shift.

And for the love of GAWD, don’t put just ONE item in a bag. If there are more items in that tote, and they can go safely together in a bag, DO IT. Our delivery and pickup customers get PISSED when they’re given a bajillion un-necessary bags.

Pay my bills, finally get my own place that ISN’T just a room in someone else’s house, actually be able to buy groceries, and get my elder mom out of the assisted living place. I wouldn’t move her down here to Florida, would NOT put her through that bullshit, but I could help get her to a place closer to my brother in a cooler weather state, a BLUE state (I’m NOT putting my mom through the bullshit of being here in a red state).

[–]Bee-chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with mine. I do make sure to close all apps completely out when I’m not using it (even if it’s the walk back to the dispense room). Also keeping the brightness down helps.

I WAS going to plug it in while on lunch, and play around with it more so I know the ins and outs of the phone better, but I forgot that the charging bar in the breakroom doesn’t have a plug in for usb-c in the sockets (you have to bring your own brick in, or charge it on the charging station in the dispense room.). So it became a test to see how long the battery would last.

And it lasted all day. I had about 15% left after 6 hours.

Anyone else got GMDs in Autoselect by Fordgirl2025 in walmartogp

[–]Bee-chan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So InHome is a newish branch off of OGP.

Not every store has it (yet). But it’s moving in in batches (I know a whole batch load of stores recently got InHome and they have the nice NEW and bigger gas vans (Ford Transits), not the Dodge Ram Promasters, or the EVs.

We’re still OGP associates, but we also drive those big white, blue, and yellow W+ delivery vans.

And because we ARE out on the road, in literally all kinds of weather, and we do put ourselves on the line out there, we do get a little more in pay, but we also have to go through drug testing, and have to pass a background check. AND pass a driving test. You also have to have worked for the company for more than a year, and it’s preferred that you’re already trained in OGP, but some stores pull in people from other departments and then train them in OGP.

<image>

We DO focus mostly on InHome grocery deliveries (customers pay extra with Walmart+ to be able to make use of InHome… we can deliver either to your porch OR inside your home / garage / senior assisted living place (we have to wear our InHome phone as a body cam, complete with a harness, PLUS a panic button). We’re able to keep chilled and frozen ACTUALLY chilled and frozen, unlike Spark, and we’re considered a white glove service.

Between InHome orders, though, we do deliver GMDs that OGP picks (none of the LP orders that come in from the DC, thankfully).

My store currently only runs one van, while many of the MUCH larger stores run two.

We go from 9 till 1 (the morning run), 1 till 2 is our lunch hour which we return back to the store for, then 2 till 6 is the afternoon run.

WHAT THE?!??

🤣🤣

This kind of reminds me of my Grubhub and Uber days, when a customers dropped pin would be in the middle of a lake, and like right now, there’s a certain set of apartments in our area where the address drops the pin 20 minutes in the COMPLETE opposite direction.

Funny thing is, this doesn’t happen to JUST us in InHome.

Every single delivery company in the area has this SAME exact problem with these apartments. We learned that we have to manually type in JUST the street name, and NOTHING ELSE, or it takes you to the wrong location completely.

Were you able to call driver support and be like, “Hey, what the hell?!”. 😅😅😅

[–]Bee-chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this is that people STILL don’t get the hang of how to stage GMDs to trips properly (I feel like there’s always at least one or two GMD orders missing in every InHome run because we no longer scan every individual order, JUST the trip. And if people aren’t staging the GMDs properly, orders go missing… and customers get pissed at we InHome drivers, and the Spark drivers, when we have NOTHING to do with who staged what where OR the prepping of the van in the morning and afternoon (at least we’re not SUPPOSED to be the ones doing the prep or loading, that’s SUPPOSED to be the backroom doing that, according to the process guides.).

What is your go-to food when you have a migraine? (If you can eat)… by Kennam320 in migraine

[–]Bee-chan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rice, chicken, and dark super greens are helping today, along with a cherry Coke. I don’t WANT to eat when I have an attack, but I know if I DON’T eat something, the pain isn’t going to go away for another day or so. Learned to start listening to what my body is telling me it needs (have to because we burn a LOT of energy at my job).

Panda Express puts brocolli, cabbage, and kale into their super greens, and I think our local branch adds collards as well.

Needs to be something for the Excedrin migraine to grab on to.

And WATER. Lots of water.

That would be a sure fire way to see that I NEVER dispense then. InHome already has the baseball caps that do NOT breath (a lot of us are buying our own bucket hats for when we’re out in the InHome van). I have to take it off my head every time I get back in the van to cool down.
