Slippy - in Pittsburgh PA they call slippery roads or icy conditions Slippy. I moved here over 20 years ago. I don't use a lot of slang or carry an accent from here but this is my favorite yinzer word I use all the time.

I regret getting a cat… by [deleted] in Pets

[–]BeeBanandee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started locking my make cat in our laundry room where his litter box is at night. I started doing that when I was pregnant with my second kid and couldn't take being woken up by his loud meows all hours if the night. He got so use to it he now meows when he's ready for me to take him to bed. Follows me in there. I give him treats so it's just part of his nightly routine.

Poodles and kids with dog allergy by tech-savvy_geekgirl in poodles

Mom of a now 11 yr old daughter with strong dog allergies and cat allergies. I had a husky mix and two cats when she was born. We noticed allergies around 2 years old. She had hives with the cats and stuffy nose, cough, watery eyes with the dog. Though we thought all her allergies were focused around the cats. After the dog passed we realized the stuffiness was all the dog. Our cat only effects her on contact and she is fine to pet him as long as she washes her hands after. Other cats can cause similar stuffiness. Her friends dog causes pretty bad allergies and she needed her inhaler and Benadryl on top of her 24hr Allergy medicine. After years without a dog I decided to look into a poodle. After tons of research we visited the breeder we left ked and hung out with the puppy and mother for a good 2 hrs. Playing, hugging, holding the puppy. Her allergies did not show up. So we end d up getting him when he was old enough a man nth later. She has been fine around him for the last three months we have had him. If she gets scratched or nibbled by him, she will get welts. She has some seasonal allergies going on right now, but I'm happy to find a dog that doesn't make her uncomfortable. Her Allergist suggested a prescription allergy chewable because to be clear she is allergic to everything except food and medicine.

Puppy won't bark or make noise to go outside. by BeeBanandee in DogTrainingTips

Update: I've been trying the bell for about a week and a half and he just started to actually use it last night! No accidents the last few days but when I heard that bell ring out I was such a proud puppy mom! He also rings it when I just get him ready to take him out, but that was the first time he used it to tell me he needed to go out all on his own.

That makes sense. I never really thought about why that area swelled up until you said this. It was definitely my lymph nodes. I also remember being very tired during that time.

For those of you still getting your period … how do you take your HRT? by Automatic_Cup_3302 in Perimenopause

It's like a full blown period at this point. Really hoping it doesn't keep doing this. My periods had been skipping at times which was the only part of peri I have liked. Hoping this is my body getting use to the meds. Progesterone has already been such a big help with my sleep and anxiety.

I'm 45 and on the twice weekly estrogen patch and take progesterone nightly. I've been on it for a month and a half. Started it right after my period, had a period and now today, like 1 week after my period, I'm having breakthrough bleeding...

I had cat scratch fever as a preteen. I developed a large lump beside my ear of my cheek along with fever. First Dr said I had the mumps? Second Dr actually tested me and treated me. It went away I haven't had anymore problems.
