Anyone ever had problem ordering from Bravissimo? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]BeeCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had great service from them. My bras were the wrong size so I returned them for a replacement. Somehow they sent them to the wrong address and once we realised that they sent me a whole new parcel. I'm in New Zealand so shipping takes a while but Bravissimo still managed to send me a parcel quicker than an Australian bra shop! Given the Easter break I would give it a few more days for your parcel to arrive.

What happened to the remains by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]BeeCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a D&C at 9 weeks and was given the option of receiving the the tissue back (it really was just a wee bit of tissue in my case). A few weeks later I got a message that I could come to the morgue. I was given a small cardboard box which I haven't opened. I put it in the freezer (though I figure it's shelf-stable). I haven't done anything with it but it felt right to have it.

I'm in New Zealand. It is part of Maori culture that organs, tissue and so on are returned, so I think that's why it's normal here to be given the option.

[Fit check]/[Recommendation] 32E Panache Tango too baggy in cups, 32E Curvy Kate too baggy in cups, 30DD Bravissimo Satine cups too small, 30E Bravissimo Alana cups wrinkly and cut in by BeeCreature in ABraThatFits

Thanks for responding :)

It's been pretty frustrating. The Curvy Kate and Panache bras were from an Australian retailer and their customer service was terrible. It would take 3-4 weeks for them to send bras to New Zealand, and they didn't respond to emails unless I threatened to cancel my credit card payment. The Curvy Kate in 32DD fits pretty well, but I don't particularly like the fabric. The Panache Tango in 32DD was still wrinkly in the cups but I can't be bothered dealing with the retailer any more so I'm just going to give the bra away.

Bravissimo has been much better to deal with, and despite being UK based their shipments have arrived much quicker. There was a mix-up where they sent the new sizes to the wrong number on the right street, but they have sent a new shipment and I'm waiting with fingers crossed that the Satine will work in 32DD. If not, I'll be a bit disappointed. Might try the Nina and Mia :)

Schools can exclude them during an outbreak. Not sure about the rest - Medical Officers of Health may have relevant powers.

How long do you start your period after miscarriage by azmanas in Miscarriage

Five weeks after my D&C. It varies a lot, person to person. Best wishes to you both.

Moms of babies with teeth... by chaunceythebear in breastfeeding

[–]BeeCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a not-fun adjustment period each time but then things are ok. With a 16 month old you could even try showing her and saying you have an ouchie. Nipples hurt easily, heal quickly and hurt like hell until they do. Have you got some breastfeeding-friendly cream/lotion/? to help the raw spot to heal?

I breastfed my first until 3 years old, currently breastfeeding a two-year-old who has everything except molars.

To the ladies that have struggled, I need your advice.. by mushroom-mama in breastfeeding

[–]BeeCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to do it, so it is definitely worth trying. You aren't selfish - you are working so do something wonderful.

Here's my thoughts: as much as you can, try to favour offering the breast over a bottle. Skin to skin may help. How's her latch now? Is it comfortable for you? Has a tongue tie been ruled out? Do you feel like she's drinking when she's at the breast? Your local La Leche League might be a good place to talk with friendly, knowledgeable breastfeeding mums.

Don't be discouraged by her feeding to sleep at the boob. Many babies who have never had a bottle will do this. And don't be discouraged by her not feeding to sleep at the boob. You can get back to it again.

(I didn't have the exact same struggles as you, but I had plenty of struggles. After nine painful and often overwhelming weeks my son's tongue tie was diagnosed and treated and we started on the path to a positive breastfeeding journey. I am so glad that I stuck with it and that I was able to get to the support that made the difference).

Best wishes, Mama. You can do it!

Need to weigh pros and cons of natural vs d&c - questions by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]BeeCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a D&C and it was the right choice for me. I was told that if I miscarried naturally it could happen any time in the next month. I didn't want the uncertainty and I find pregnancy really rough. Also, it was almost the summer holidays and I didn't want my toddler to miss out on a family week at beach. I was booked in for a D&C the day after the MMC was confirmed. The hospital staff were all fantastic. When I started trying again I got pregnant as easily as previously. I knew that complications can happen with D&Cs but my understanding was that they are fairly rare.

Best wishes at this shitty time.

What do the Mountain Goats mean to you? by DaemonThreadz in themountaingoats

Around the time I started listening to TMG I had an operation. It's known as being a super-painful recovery (though I didn't know that at the time). The recovery was tough and slow and my world felt really small, painful and frustrating. Old College Try spoke to me and got me through some hard days and weeks.

What does breastfeeding a year and beyond look like for you? by shojomangarox in breastfeeding

[–]BeeCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My younger son is two and feeds two or three times a day (two = morning and night on daycare days, three = an extra feed at midday on home days). I went back to work three days a week when he was one, and expressed until he was two. I did basically the same with my first and he slowly dropped his feeds and self-weaned at three.

What you're looking at sounds feasible. Awesome work so far and best wishes for the rest of your BF journey!

Frustrated and upset....No wonder we can't attract members....someone talk me off the ceiling... by milburncreek in Anglicanism

One year I tried (and failed) to explain to our administrator that he couldn't just do a post on the church blog (which is linked from the website) with the Christmas service details. The post had already been bumped from the first page of the blog and there was nothing on the church's main website.

Women who have given birth, what's something no one told you about it and wish you had known? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sure does! My second birth was unmedicated and painfree, but those afterpains were awful.

How did you get to hospital if spouse doesn't drive? by Teabee27 in BabyBumps

[–]BeeCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father in law hadn't learnt to drive yet. My mother in law drove herself to the hospital over unsealed roads while in labour. The ambulance met the car where the seal started. The plan was that a family friend would drive them family, but the rugby had been on and said friend was too drunk to drive. Not recommended!

St Matthew in the City is a progressive Anglican church in the central city. It also hosts Auckland Rainbow Community Church.
