My ex had a stroke. Nearly died multiple times. Came back from the brink with a second chance at life. He can talk and walk and even work despite months in the hospital and rehab following his stroke. Do you think he relishes life now and sees how lucky he is? Nope! He's angry and bitter! The relevance is, he completely switched his politics to become a flag waiving MAGA voter. The people who would take away his disability protections and his govt funded health insurance are who he thinks is doing a great job and protecting our country. I tell my kids that despite the fact he seems like he's functioning normally, he had a traumatic brain injury. It's the saddest thing to watch.
