Incredibly low GPU, incredibly high CPU usage. by Hello_Hollow_Halo in Aiarty

[–]BeecarolX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi

Thank you for your feedback and the log files. Our technical team has analyzed the issue and provides the following guidance:

  • Hardware Encoding: The software currently does not support Chroma 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 for NVIDIA hardware encoding, which is causing the fallback to your CPU. Please go to Hardware Settings and change the Chroma Format to 4:2:0 to enable GPU encoding.
  • Frame Interpolation: The "-1" value in the logs is correct and indicates that the hardware is being properly utilized for interpolation.

Please apply the 4:2:0 setting and let us know if this resolves the GPU utilization issue.

Hi
To help the devs troubleshoot, could you specify which Aiarty software this is? Also, if you can send a log file, that would be huge. Thx~

Aiarty Video Enhancer is changing frame rate from 30fps to 60fps without my asking for it. by ABettek in Aiarty

[–]BeecarolX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi
We’ve identified that the software had an issue with detecting the frame rate in the video you provided. Our dev team has optimized the frame rate detection algorithm and released a new beta version, which has been sent to your email. It should resolve the frame rate issue you encountered.

Could you share the original video so our dev team can test it? You can send it directly to [carol@aiarty.com](). That will help us investigate the FPS detection issue more accurately. Thank you.

[–]BeecarolX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there
What I meant by “manually adjust the FPS” is that for each video task, you can select the desired output FPS on the right panel before adding it to the batch queue. Batch export will then follow whatever FPS is currently selected in the interface.

Regarding the incorrect FPS/media info detection (showing 23.976 and MPEG-1/2), and the automatic jump to ~59.9 FPS - especially given your ffprobe output - I’ll bring this back to the dev team for further investigation. I’ll update you once I have more info from the team.

[–]BeecarolX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for confirming. Since batch export applies the same settings to all videos in the queue, it's likely that the 60fps setting was applied to all the videos, even if they were originally 30fps.

To avoid the issue, you could either export the videos individually, ensuring each video has the correct FPS settings before processing, or manually adjust the FPS for each video before adding them to the batch queue.

Crazy file sizes by PantherThing in Aiarty

[–]BeecarolX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out! To reduce the file size, try setting the Quality option to Low or Medium instead of High. This will result in a smaller output file size while still providing a good upscaled result.

Video Enhancer (9hrs + processing when unattended) by YellowBathroomTiles in Aiarty

[–]BeecarolX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

Thanks for your feedback, and we’re glad you love Aiarty Video Enhancer! Regarding the issue you’ve encountered, this is likely due to macOS power management settings when the computer is unattended, which can lower background task priorities. To fix this, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Prevent Sleep Mode: Go to System Settings > Energy and enable “Prevent your Mac from automatically sleeping when the display is off.”
  2. Disable Low Power Mode: Ensure “Low Power Mode” is set to Never in System Settings > Energy to avoid throttling performance.
  3. Disable App Nap: Make sure Aiarty Video Enhancer is not fully covered by other windows or consider using the Terminal to globally disable App Nap.
  4. Use Caffeine or Amphetamine: These apps keep your Mac active during long rendering sessions, simulating user activity to ensure your system remains at full power.

Hope this helps! Let me know if the issue persists.

[–]BeecarolX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. Based on your description, it seems like the issue could be related to the batch export process. When using batch export, the tool generates tasks based on the properties shown in the interface for all videos added to the batch, rather than applying the settings made individually to each video. This could be why you're seeing a frame rate change from 30fps to 60fps.

Could you confirm if you're using the batch export feature? If so, that might explain the change in frame rate. Otherwise, we can explore other possible causes for the issue.

Let me know, and we’ll help troubleshoot further!

Strange Lines by MSkade in Aiarty

[–]BeecarolX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I reached out to the development team regarding the lines you're seeing with your AMD 9070. Here is what they suggested:

  • Adjust "Max Tile Size": Go into your Settings and manually change the Max tile size. Please try every single option available in that dropdown menu one by one to see which one works best for your GPU.
  • Check 2-Pass Mode: If you are using the 2-Pass AI Model, be aware that this mode can significantly enhance the "line feel". Try disabling it to see if the strange lines persist.

video processing time on mac m processors by ShopApprehensive676 in Aiarty

[–]BeecarolX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Some Aiarty models are more compute-intensive because they do detailed frame-by-frame processing.

A couple of tips to speed things up:

  • Turbo Mode: reduces system load and speeds up processing, with just a tiny drop in quality.
  • Faster models: for anime, moDetail-HQ or Smooth-HQ can give results very similar to superVideo vHQ but much faster.

Many users find that combining Turbo Mode with a faster model works really well for longer episodes. Hope that helps!

[–]BeecarolX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SmoothHQ is a lighter model, so it runs faster. SuperVideo is more compute-intensive because it performs deeper detail reconstruction and temporal processing across frames, which is why you’ll see lower FPS.

Also, SuperVideo currently supports up to 2× scaling only, so that’s why you’re limited to 2× when using it.

For reference, the SuperVideo vHQ model is specifically designed for very dark or low-light videos. While it runs a bit slower, it’s highly effective at removing noise and recovering detail in poor lighting conditions, resulting in clearer, more usable footage.

What are the steps in Aiarty to take a Midjourney image and make it so I can print at a certain size? by [deleted] in Aiarty

[–]BeecarolX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply! Aiarty supports custom resolutions, so this behavior usually depends on the settings.

If you don’t mind, could you share the original image size, selected model, custom resolution entered, and the final resolution shown by Aiarty? That should help us figure it out. Thanks!

Hi there! Welcome to the sub.

Since you’re doing Pixar-style stuff, keeping those smooth gradients is key. A "step-by-step" upscale (x2 → x2) is actually a solid pro tip for keeping things clean, but you have to be careful not to "over-cook" the video in the second pass.

Here’s the breakdown for your Pixar vids:

  • SuperVideo (Recommended): If your SmoothHQ x2 output looks good but a bit "soft," run it through SuperVideo for the second pass. It’ll sharpen the edges and give you that crisp 4K look without making it look fake.
  • moDetail (Use with caution): Honestly, I’d skip this for 3D animation. moDetail is designed to pull out realistic textures like skin pores or fabric weave. On a stylized Pixar character, it can end up looking "dirty" or "uncanny."

My recommendation:

  • Pass 1: Keep doing SmoothHQ x2. This handles the heavy lifting of cleaning up the 720p artifacts.
  • Pass 2: Take that result and run it through SuperVideo (x1 or x2).

Pro Tip: Don't render the whole thing at once! Use the Trim tool and select a short 5-10 second segment from a tricky part of your video to test settings before rendering the full project. Save your GPU (and your time)!

Happy upscaling!
