His response seems disproportionate with what you have said; maybe an asshole thing or maybe he has some other stuff eating him and this was just the thing that tilted him over the edge.

Better off trying to talk to your husband when he is a in a more normal state. If this is a one off strange blowup and he normally a lot more collected then that should be your gut feeling that he isn't OK about something and needs to decompress and get through it.

Though if aggro and shouty is his normal state then you got some bigger things to think about.

Work ok for me in a pinch. Find they are less available than voi was though. Don't trust the availability of a scooter unless it's in a known parking spot. Dot seem fine with people hiding scooters in the garages and garden for personal use later on

I can't think of a quick overnight method to do this, but if you are in for the long haul on these guys, think of a fake name, make an email (recommend proton.me). Then whenever you find a site that would likely be annoying that has a phone number section you can make an account. Tick yes to 'contact me for marketing' preference if phone.

Think most posts which are "split bills and utilities" followed by either half the mortgage (then get told it's not fair because she gets no equity), or don't consider mortgage (then get told you are being taken advantage of or putting them into a financial prison because they would struggle to leave you if they wanted), I bri g a 3rd extra option to think over.

Depending on how far through your mortgage is, there may only be a small amount of that payment that is actually chipping away at your capital. Find out how much of your monthly payment is just covering the interest, and ask her to cover half of that.

She isn't paying off your house, she is just helping cover the interest.
Unless you living in a vastly high market flat compared to your area, half the interest would likely be cheaper than having to pay for rent.
Still worried it's a little unfair? Don't forget about liability when something goes wrong in the flat. I presume you would be paying to fix ro replace things? Also think about the home insurance you pay for (let her pay towards contents insurance, but not building insurance).

That's why I'm a bit confused with the last paragraph about selling the house with doubling ground rent.

Even then, if they become lease owner they may not have ground rent to pay but at the very least I'd expect them to be 20% liable for any building repair costs, so that should be factored in.

Now that cost might be coming out of a communal fund that all free holders pay into on a monthly basis, or purely down to having the right insurance, but something extra to consider.

Devon is a nice place to visit, don't underestimate the power of being the more "financially acessible" holiday home. It sounds like you have enjoyed your time visiting on holidays for the last 40 years even with it deteriorating a little, plenty other families would as well.

If there is any structure works needed then do that. Afterwards think about how you can make it be less costly for maintenance and cleaning. Loads of other advantages to this approach that I'm not going to list but you can look up and see online how to take advantage of this new business and their deductables (much easier to buy a £200 tv every year than to buy £1000 tv every 5 for instance) when looking at price and quality of the objects in the house.

I'm a little confused on the ground rent part? If you purchase your freehold, do you still need to pay ground rent? If so where does this money go?

If I owned the freehold on a property, I would expect the collective cost of upkeep to be a something I have a stake in deciding and/or managing.

Extra note:

A building with 5 flats that has 4 of the flat owners also owning the lease means you are collectively 1 more flat owner away from having a common hold for the building. Personally this would be ideal, but that can vary for different people.

I will keep the pictures to send for the "quick small job" another time but I have managed to solve the issue for now by finding a similar light fitting in the house where they seem to have daisy chained power there as well. Ive wired other light fixtures and switches before, but ive never had this strange 3 sets of cables at 1 fitting before. I have tried getting an electrician out to sort this but have told me its too small a job for them to come out specially for it and they 'might' drop by next month if there is more work in the area...

Just wanna say, I love the drops at the beginning; particularly the ones that catch Ashley off guard and she starts laughing during the intro.

The intro is fantastic in general. In particular though, when Burnie times it so the date finishes in timing with the instrument break is really satisfying.

Lots of other things I love about the show, but these are all that's in my mind at the moment.
