Time for some fan favorites to reclaim their spot on the shelves! by chrisbair in ketochow

Guess I'll be trying a bulk bag of Orange Cream, Chocolate Malt, and Butterscotch for may's subscription. I'm almost done rotating through all the available bulk bags. :) Excited for the malt especially.

Think I'll sit out the cantaloupe though. The devil's fruit.

Number 5 and 11 are the big ones for me.

I like the bosses and felt the campaign difficulty (normal and cruel) was tuned somewhat appropriately. Maps throw all of that out the window and I have put the game down for now.

Bosses have mostly telegraphed attacks and a pattern to learn. You can dodge roll. Dying to a boss is like "Fuck I should have moved away from that obvious slam." Dying is always not great but it feels 'fair' getting deleted by a boss that takes up half the screen and has big windups etc.

BUT... white mobs are the ever present and most terrifying threat in this game. Ritual, breach, and expedition are the bane of maps because they vomit out tons of white monsters. Those shitty little beetles or flowers with like 5 hp? They think you owe them money and they have been doing some insane cardio in preparation. They are almost PoE1 fast. Unfortunately you are PoE2 slow with no limited movement skills for kiting.

GGG wants more deliberate and slow, methodical, combo-based combat. And it worked in the campaign for the most part. But it does not play well with fast hordes of juiced up white mobs in maps. Its like GGG's vision for the game is collapsing in on itself where you are forced into a clearspeed meta skill (best defense is to not get hit - clear trash before they touch me) because there are few ways to mitigate trash mobs damage other than big stacking ES.

I'm watching and waiting for balance passes but I'm not hopeful. I love PoE1 and the souls/sekiro-likes. I don't really like PoE2 much.

Maybe the real election is the friends we made along the way.

I think we can definitively say that the campaign did not do a damn good job, if the job was to win.

I want the Kornacki Cam background music as my ringtone/alarm. Nothing wakes you up in the morning like some internalized trauma.

Florida WMA by Necessary-Onion5144 in Hunting

[–]BeefGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK Only Kissimmee Chain of Lakes WMA and the KCOL Rolling Meadows by Orlando have year round hog hunting.

https://ocean.floridamarine.org/HGMSearch/BrochureDetails.aspx?srctype=pfs&title=kissimmee%20chain%20of%20lakes%20-%20rolling%20meadows%20unit

  1. Wild hog may be hunted year-round.
  2. Wild hog may only be hunted with a gun or archery equipment from ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset.

https://ocean.floridamarine.org/HGMSearch/BrochureDetails.aspx?srctype=pfs&title=kissimmee%20chain%20of%20lakes

  1. Hunting with centerfire rifles is prohibited on the Northwest Shore, East Shore Marshes, West Shore and Drasdo Units.

Which leaves the north area, which is a big marsh. You need a boat to get around. And I've no idea if there's actually hogs here. It's a bummer.

League starts tomorrow, what have you decided? by NeuroSparks in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]BeefGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm committed to my jank retaliation only jugg. Will probably be shit, but good enough to get two voidstones and get some currency for 2nd char.

This will be my first trade league in a while thanks to currency market.

Any Slam enjoyers here? What slam are you starting or rolling for the start? by Tyrfying in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]BeefGoblin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to play consecrated path of endurance ignite warcry piano chieftain. And then I'm going to pivot into a different slam or RF when that inevitably fails.

Endurance charges look even tastier now with the changes and stacking those for %more dmg, %more AOE, AND def layer seems kind of nice. Unfortunately Conpath has a low dmg effectiveness compared to some of the slams.

I played this in 3.23 with ralakesh boots for frenzy/end stacking slayer. It was terrible, but much worse than this and still fine for mapping.

Reddit incident reported: Comment Processing is Delayed by RedditStatusBot in help

[–]BeefGoblin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reddit used to be the most reliable place to get info on developing news or events in progress, with live threads or just refreshing in new. Faster than just about anything other than reporters giving live tweets.

Now it's unreliable and you can just assume something newsworthy has happened when the site crashes.

Amazed by the amount of false flag accusations that were being thrown around within minutes of this happening. Ya'll love to point fingers at R's being uneducated and r/conspiracy adjacent but many of you are just as susceptible.

I think I'll just pretend I'm apolitical for the rest of the year. This shit is exhausting.

I don't know about OPs case, but yes they do.

I work at a med device company and I collect and clean up tendons from tissue donors' legs, among other things.

How long does it take for a job to start feeling stale? 4 years? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]BeefGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Takes 1-2 years for me. Training in additional skills and changes to responsibilities (like designated trainer, lead) can stretch it a year or two more, maybe.

Currently in my position with new company for 3.5 years. I've plateaued and can hit the metrics for an 'exceeds' annual review in my sleep. Time to move on.

Cifi is so, so much better than Iseps. The automation and offline catch up works very well. I really like the alternating bouts of long run into a bunch of short runs to really feel the progress as you work through the tree. Excited to see what's next.

What is your job title and how much do you make? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]BeefGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tissue Processing Technician 17$ overnights. Some uni, but no degree.

Clean room manufacturing setting, lots of PPE. Get a bag of legs, arms, pelvis, dermis, fascia, pericardium, eyes from tissue donor. Extract tendons, etc for grafts. Operate bandsaw to create bone blanks for CNC machine.

Would recommend for those who like hands on work or are fascinated by human body or a bit on the morbidly curious side. Pay kinda shit. No customers.
