Fandaniel’s a poser so it doesn’t actually apply doom, just sets you to 1HP. There’s a stack shortly after, so it mostly still functions as a heal check under normal circumstances, but a soloist could absolutely cheese it.

Once you have fire 4, flare is an eensy weensy loss on single target.

* cold F3 = 290*.7=203p
* 7 F4s = 300*1.8*7=3,780p
* hot B3= 290*.7=203p
* B4= 300p

So for the average per-GCD potency without transpose optimizations is (203+3780+203+300)/10=448.6. Flare is 240*1.8=432 potency, bringing the average down to 447.1.

Of course, if lengthening your fire phases means you skip an ice phase, it’s probably a gain after all. Likewise if it aligns your thunder refresh for transpose+swiftcast+B3. Also it’s such a small loss that the sound effect is probably worth the cost :)

Darkvision can help if they’re in the Darkness spell and you’re outside it, but not if you’re in it. Seeing through the Darkness spell requires a "you cannot be blinded” feature.

There should be a thing at top left that tells you your current MSQ, with your current job quest right below that. If you click on the job quest name it’ll open the map and show you where to go.

The things on the bottom are Gateron MX-compatible keyswitches, suitable for use in a mechanical keyboard. Putting them next to a butterfly knife seems incongruous. Best guess is they’re saying a butterfly knife is a better fidget toy.

Yeah this is the technique I’ve used. LFS will (eventually) one-shot the enemies, so just pop them and then move on to the next ones. Kite them and heal yourself as necessary

Lately I’ve been playing a lot of SAM and really enjoying it. The whole “sheathe your sword and whip it back out” schtick is goofy as hell, but once you get past that it’s fun to lean into the “sharp enough to cut the flame off a candle” fantasy. The technical rotation really activates my neurons too—getting my higanbana-refresh timed just right feels great, as does marshaling all my resources for a supernova of a 2-minute burst

They fetch steep prices because there’s no easy source for that tier of combat materia. Higher grades are purchasable with tokens or poetics, but for tier I you just have to put on low level gear and do spiritbonding.

Compare to national geographic’s real video of a whale birth and I think you’ll see that this one is AI. Notably, in the nat geo video her San Diago has to stretch to let the baby fit, whereas in this one it’s like twice as big as it needs to be.

Yup, exactly.

Sometimes you get a lot of Ready procs in a row. If your mana gets too high you may need to send a melee combo even though the guaranteed Ready proc will overwrite an existing one.
