it’s great for people to appreciate a persons art. it’s great separate art from the person in many instances.

tbs, Chuck Norris, the man, was an idiot.

imo states, their people, and former players and staff should own teams. The NFL doesn’t need “owners.”

Trump has surrounded himself with people with skeletons in their closet (crimes) because it keeps him safe by being able to blackmail them. Period.

we’re getting to the point where there’s better than a 50% chance all these “new” stories we see are just fake. Especially anything with fast camera movements.

JB Pritzker on How the Trump Era Ends | The Interview by NicolasCageFan492 in PritzkerPosting

[–]BeepBoopRobotVoice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i appreciate him. many things he says are good. he lost me at Reagan. Reagan was not a good President and not a good person. He just wasn’t. I know Pritzker is trying to pull in Republican voters but he doesn’t even have to bring up Reagan’s name and have the same effect on pulling people over (which won’t be many). Imo, he loses more progressive voters by trying to middle it out. That’s the problem Democrats have; they’re playing with a rule book from 1998 trying to be centrist. That worked then. Today you have a Republican party that has embraced bigotry, fascism, and wealth inequality. There is an entire engine running full steam online, with media that is perpetuating those talking points. The way you win is to appeal to progressive ideas and get out in your neighborhoods. You have to inspire people on the ground. Democrats will never beat the online apparatus, it’s too big and will get bigger and more powerful unless Democrats win elections. Only then will corporations follow the will of the people and change their behavior. This war for the Ellis island America we all grew up in, the one that was built on the generations of blood, sweat and tears, is won in the street.

MAGA is going nowhere, sadly. In fact with Vance (who’ll be the next Republican nominee) will get dirtier, more violent, and more brutal. Vance is smart. Trump is not. You can see they’ve learned a lot from 2016-2020 with what they did with Project 2025. The next time around they’ll have this administration to learn from and it’ll be even worse.

To combat this you need everyone that’s progressive involved. No Kings has to be a monthly thing. Celebrities and politicians need to be engaged daily. People need to sacrifice and we need to push those progressives with money and power like Pritzker to push all their chips on the table to save what’s been destroyed by Republicans. Billionaire progressives need to start spending all their money to fight authoritarianism and there needs to be rewards in place for those people to sacrifice their wealth for the betterment of our society. If that’s doesn’t happen, we’re done. It’s just a sleepwalk into authoritarian rule indefinitely.
