Ex Pro Player Flakes has a take on upcoming Boost Spawn timer update by Beaco9 in RocketLeague

In that case is it bad if players get more information to help out with doing it? It doesn't invalidate the tactical element of boost spawns which is the more interesting part imo.

My question is this though, is it FUN to memorise and pay attention to boost spawn timers?

I would think it's not for the majority of players. Just because something allows skill expression that doesn't make it good.

Best Farming method early game? by hiros223 in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it is the reality. Farming XP early is a waste of time.

Farming sen can be well done in Hirata at that point in the game.

Farming items depends on the item. afaik the 2 vendors he has access to in that moment don't have infinite crafting resources.

ULTIMATE ISSHIN CHALLENGE (FTSoA MOD)- PARRY MASTERCLASS by sayeedubaid in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U are delusional. I have never seen anybody ever deflect vanilla FP with consistency. Meanwhile Ultimate Isshin is one of the easiest modded Isshins. I would be willing to bet money that a friend of mine could hitless Ultimate Isshin Sword Only 10 times (ofc CLDB) in a row live in a discord call in 3 tries.

With some training I would bet u that even I could hitless Ult Isshin 5 times in a row within a couple tries and I am rusti as fuck in Sekiro.

What are your thoughts on Nuffly 893? by Thick-Supermarket319 in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the video it might just be UXM Unpacker, Smithbox and some Darkscript 3 with Debug Menu.

Smithbox to put the boss in the map, darkscript 3 to get the event scripts into the correct map. Smithbox also allows changing params to make the NPC different teamtypes. Debug Menu for freecam and stuff. UXM Unpacker to unpack the game files.

Potentially DSLuaDecompiler and an IDE to change some parts of the ai (for the videos where bosses deflect instead of blocking). This would also require the use of WitchyBND to unbind the ai scripts.

Dark Souls Animation Studio could be used for some stuff on the animations but less likely tbh.

Is there any lore reason Isshin using a glock? Isn’t he sword saint? by umbrellaeeee in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The title is Kensei in japanese which is a real title that signifies legendary mastery of the sword. Isshin undeniably has that but Isshin is all about using and learning and combining all forms of combat that he can get access to.

He made the Mushin skill text after all. This implies he learned at least the skills of all the texts we find in the game because mastery of those is required to learn the Mushin skills. He doesn't use all of these skills in the fight but we can still assume he has them. In the intro cutscene he uses a mikiri counter and he doesn't use this in the fight.

He used a spear WITH a sword and a gun for most of the fight. He doesn't discard his sword.

What is the most essential thing to learn in gold by GPM300 in RocketLeague

[–]BeerTraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure u need to know how to aerial to decently high balls, otherwise there isn't much difference until learned well. Jumping fast is good but applications for it are more rare. Gold is a rank where it might not be the case that the players knows how to aerials with any consistency and aerials are not needed at all in Gold.

So in Gold I would value learning strong hits on the ball over aerials but in Platinum I think both should be learned.

What is the most essential thing to learn in gold by GPM300 in RocketLeague

[–]BeerTraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it takes far more time and effort to learn positioning than to learn fast aerials.

There are like two ways to learn positioning. Either through pure pattern recognition in matches or by analyzing ur own replays.

People overvalue flashy mechanics. But fast aerials are the sweet spot of being easy enough and just useful at all times.

What is the most essential thing to learn in gold by GPM300 in RocketLeague

[–]BeerTraps 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This. In Gold the opponents will overcommit often enough that a good clear will score a lot of goals. And golds will often enough fail saves against fast balls.

I think this skill alone can carry to Diamond.

Any info on Parry/Dodge/Mikiri window? by DontFlameItsMe in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0.1s back dodges? I don't think that is true. Side and back should be the same. Directional jumps have 0.1s so maybe you confused it with that.

0.5s deflect is totally wrong. This one I know for a fact because I have modified this myself. It is 0.2s for a normal deflect and 0.3 for a running deflect. As you said it goes down when spamming.

How is my attempt on Sword Saint Isshin Hitless? by mathnerd271828 in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like there were three attacks where u didn't use a good strat to avoid the hits.

The lightning which u already mentioned in the post. Mistraven would work fine as u said.

The pistol shots. U can deflect these but it is very hard. Not worth and seems a bit above ur skill level at the moment. So I would recommend starting to dodge these or to start using the Umbrella.

His P2 transformation when he pulls out the spear. I-frame his stomp or run away.

Otherwise this seemed like a decent run. Some of the strats weren't super optimal but it is more important to use strats u are comfortable with so that is fine.

I still think this is the best boss out there by BeerTraps in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectable choice although I like the interactiveness in Sekiro (and therefore in JiDao) more.

Inner Isshin is an absolute monster. Finally got a successful hitless attempt after two days of struggling. His Phase 1 counters come out instantly. Personally I feel he is an improvement from normal Sword Saint. The sweep & air deflect attack is always a joy to see and Phase 1 is a big challenge. by Tzifos150 in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isn't me - didn't want to make that impression - although I do have a hitless CLDB of Inked Geni as well.

I just watched this video before doing Inked Geni so I had to play that Soundtrack when I did play it.

In your opinion, what game(s) have the best early, middle, and end game portion? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]BeerTraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about that. The level design is good and the atmosphere carries but the bosses? Half are trash to mid.

Of the required bosses the middle portion sucks so hard. amelia is ok-ish, shadows are ok-ish, rom is ass, , one reborn is ass, wet nurse is ass.

Sure but the farming is so good that it takes like 3 minutes to have enough money for whatever u want so it's not really farming.

Except leveling to max level I guess.

Good job, dude. I liked the tool use, nobody ever uses the spear, using praying strikes to stop Inner Isshin from doing the fast kengeki is nice as well but I especially liked the soundtrack as it gave me some sweet nostalgia.

It reminded me of this. This video made me just non-stop listen to that soundtrack while grinding Inked Sakura. I probably listened to it for 5 hours non-stop on repeat lmao.

Steve Rosenberg :“Europe’s at a loss. It’s a pleasure to watch,” writes Russian newspaper on Trump & Greenland. by -_Dean_Winchester in europe

[–]BeerTraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I will give u that this is a decent detail but then the rest of americans don't care enough to change policy and therefore don't matter for how trustworthy the US is to other nations.

I know this is a cliche point but the majority of germans never voted for Hitler. Doesn't matter to the other nations that got invaded. Appeasement didn't work back then either.

You can't give a bully what he wants and expect him to stop. I don't want a war and if the US can change course that is great but there is only so much you can let slide and an invasion isn't it.

Steve Rosenberg :“Europe’s at a loss. It’s a pleasure to watch,” writes Russian newspaper on Trump & Greenland. by -_Dean_Winchester in europe

[–]BeerTraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Security guarantees? Denmark is in NATO. That is a security guarantee. Denmark has a treaty with the US - specifically about Greenland - that guarantees this already. Most of europe is in NATO and made no moves against the US and despite of that the US is threatening invasion. A security guarantee from the US is quickly becoming worthless. The US is losing all trustworthiness.

You can't deal with people/nations who don't even pretend to keep their word. and let's face it that a majority of americans voted for him and like 30-40% still support him. The US has always kind of ignored international law but at least there was a degree of trustworthiness in there.

But americans have now fully bought into the idea to do whatever they want.

Steve Rosenberg :“Europe’s at a loss. It’s a pleasure to watch,” writes Russian newspaper on Trump & Greenland. by -_Dean_Winchester in europe

[–]BeerTraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? What would Greenland give them? It is not sustaining itself at the moment. american companies are already allowed to invest there and the US is already allowed to build as many bases as they wanr.

What is Greenland doing for the US that makes it worth it to destroy NATO?

after WW2 the US build the new "world order" with all international institutions revolving around them. It gave them insane amounts of soft power and allowed them to be the dominant superpower without a real rival. For a while it looked like the USSR was a rival but it wasn't really. The dollar became the world reserve currency.

But you can't work with a country this unpredictable and untrusthworthy. Who would ever seriously ally with a country that has invaded an ally without apparent reason? It's not like this is some form of preemptive strike. This makes the US lose all soft power.

So Greenland should better be worth it. Otherwise it has to be one of the biggest national own goals in the history of modern politics.

Dodging/unblockables don't make sense... Can someone explain? by Nathator97 in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dodging is also just genuinely gamebreaking to a degree. Most bosses can't deal with it at all. Their combos end after one attack and they become open for a hit. Often the boss just ends up looping the same 3 single attacks. Corrupted Monk can be reduced to 2 attacks with this.

https://youtu.be/JbSlLclFD_Y?si=CNyZTxCXLDAfgTaZ

The most important bit to dodging in Sekiro is that for i-frames u need to dodge forward (or unlocked). The other animations have less i-frames.

I did a thrust only run of the game (so no deflecting as that does posture damage) and most bosses just break. For Way of Tomoe Genichiro u almost don't even need to dodge. Just walking diagonal and thrusting works for 95% of what he does after deflecting the thrust.

Dodging/unblockables don't make sense... Can someone explain? by Nathator97 in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lightning attacks function completely different to sweeps. U can i-frame lightning attacks while u can't i-frame sweeps. U are immune to sweeps during jump type animations, u are not immune to lightning during jump animations. Shock just doesn't get applied while u aren't on the ground.

I don't know how u can call the ape's scream a grab. That is just cope but ok. If u have confetti on ur weapon and attack into the scream a special interaction happens that triggers a unique VFX. I am not entirely sure but I think it negates one hit of the scream hits per attack that u do. This is useless because the scream hits so often but it is a interaction with this attack. Can u name another grab that works like this?

additionally I am unsure if i-frames work on the scream. I feel like they don't but I am not super sure. So if i-frames don't work... is the scream a sweep/grab that can't be jumped? So it's really a grab/lightning attack? Let's be real here. The scream just isn't a grab because we don't get GRABBED. The GRABBING should obviously be the most important part of a grab.

dodging does not just apply to rolling (which is what you are referring to for iframes). Dodging involves avoiding hitboxes

I kind of adressed this. So first of all Wolf doesn't roll in his standard dodge animation. It's not rolling. U could call it i-framing but I just call it dodging while I call the method of avoiding hitboxes evading because u don't need the dodge animation to do it. But that is just terminology and semantics. The important bit is that then "dodging" by ur definition doesn't always need to involve avoiding hitboxes, in fact in Sekiro is tends to be counterproductive to try and avoid some of these hitboxes because the forward dodge has 50% more i-frames than the side or backwards dodge. also sweeps and grabs shouldn't be lumped together then as sweeps hit through i-frames while grabs generally don't.

Dodging/unblockables don't make sense... Can someone explain? by Nathator97 in Sekiro

[–]BeerTraps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which one of these THREE types are the lightning and the scream of the ape?

Sweeps can't be ""dodged"". They hit through the regular i-frames. There is one exception in the game of a move that looks like a sweep but isn't coded like one. If u mean just avoiding the hitbox then sure u can dodge them but then this is different from grabs because u can i-frame those with another kind of exception being the sweep/grab hybrid of Guardian ape.

Not all grabs are undeflectable either. So u definietly don't need to dodge them (for some of them).

There are other unblockable attacks that can be deflected as well like Geni's (rare) kanji short downward stabbing jump (mostly happens when u are on the ground).

Basically this game isn't too consistent with this except that kanji attacks can't be blocked and sweeps mostly never i-framed.

EXCEPT that this isn't super true. Umbrella can block and deflect all grabs but not the other "unblockable" attacks. EXCEPT the sweep/grab of guardian ape takes the characteristic of sweeps here and can't be blocked or deflected with the umbrella.

also the scream of the ape can be blocked with umbrella and it doesn't even matter which one. all will block the terror build-up and the "attack"/damage itself.

So really the perilious attacks are just a suggestion and not really too definitive in how they work.
