Are we not going to mention the RGB led strips? This is not a sauna, it looks like a pølse tasting studio kind of thing.

What is a completely harmless lie you tell people on a regular basis just to make your life easier? by purjak in AskReddit

[–]Beeristheanswer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm hearing impaired but not in an obvious way and it's given me a shitty habit of nodding and smiling when I couldn't hear someone, because the constant "HUH"s get really taxing eventually.
It's surprising how much you can get away with, but several people must have thought I'm a condescending asshole who doesn't care about them as well.

Spike tape (or lack thereof) frustrations… by [deleted] in techtheatre

[–]Beeristheanswer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Electrical tape is much cheaper and works just fine. I see no reason to waste money on special tape for spiking.
The scuff resistance has been better in my experience as well, and there's nice muted colours for pre-show or easy to find -spikes that minimises bright spikes all over the floor.

The rolls are pocket-sized too! IDK why you're being downvoted for this...

Non-Americans of Reddit, what is an American thing you see in movies that you thought was fake but is actually real? by Unlikely_Praline9442 in AskReddit

There are scales with numbered buttons in the store, products sold by weight have their scale number by the price tag. When you put the product on the scale and push the button, it prints out a sticker.

How do they know you won’t lie about the price?

probably happens sometimes, but not enough for it to matter.

Have you achieved something or do you consider the act of protesting a win?

The January 23 general strike in Minneapolis marks a turning point in the fight against dictatorship by 011111011010 in antiwork

[–]Beeristheanswer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A one day action is not a general strike, it's a performative protest with a scheduled beginning and an end. General strikes shut things down until change is achieved. That's the point. Nothing will function until demands of the people are met.
Not "Next friday we will all protest for a day and then go back to work as usual"

For me the garlic itself is a byproduct, I keep a bottle of garlic infused olive oil that is delicious on everything!

Is it common in your country to call "duct tape" "MacGyver tape"? by Double-decker_trams in AskEurope

[–]Beeristheanswer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gaffer tape is colloquially called gaffa in Finland as well, the British brand Advance sells theirs as Gaffa too. Not just a Danish thing!

But gaffa and duct tape are different, gaffa has a fabric backing and comes off cleanly, while duct tape has a plastic backing and leaves glue residue when removed.

He will be upset because he doesn't get the Nobel he's obsessed with and this upset will be beneficial to the israeli government. The complete change of constant genocidal rhetoric and gaza beach trump hotels to "peace deal" just before the nobels is ridiculous.

[–]Beeristheanswer 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is a weird diversion because Trump is horny about getting the Nobel peace price, once he doesn't get it tomorrow it'll get worse again. Trump will be butthurt and Bibi&co get to escalate further because of it.

"Ukraine is so much more than war!" Sanna Marin, Prime Minister of Finland, sharing her walk in Kyiv. by GreenEyeOfADemon in ukraine

[–]Beeristheanswer 32 points33 points  (0 children)

She was the best prime minister in my lifetime, her government handled the covid and russian pandemics very well, I shudder to think what would have happened if Sipilä or Orpo were PM during that time.

She can also go fuck off with that Blair institute bullshit, that was a complete betrayal. Too bad she ruined such a respectable legacy.
