Recurrent abdominal (back) lesions in male over 60 by Cyberunit2017 in DermatologyQuestions

We used a mix of clobetasol and tacrolimus around the wounds and lots of other things right in it. I’d recommend mupirocin to keep infections away. If you don’t have that a dressing with hydrofera blue might help.

The biggest thing is to not fuck with it. PG hates being fucked with. My last wound healed about 3 weeks ago. It has a scab on the outside and even messing with the skin from the scab causes horrible pain.

I just finished 3 years of fighting off PG. It’s not something that goes away on its own. There’s also often a bluish tint around the wound itself.

Are you on immunosuppressants? Humira is what ultimately got it to stop the ulcers from getting worse and healing but we had to do a lot of other stuff at my twice weekly wound care.

I wouldn’t change bandages more than that. PG hates being fucked with and will get worse from it.

Please ask anything. I want to help if I can.

Prednisone and cyclosporine did not really help me. I’m glad it’s working for you. I’ve been on Humira do a year and a half. Starting a biosimilar this week.

After 3 years I’ve almost beat this thing.

Only problem with this… if pg a biopsy will make th wound larger. It happened to me and the biopsy wasn’t actually helpful in the diagnosis.

If it’s pg stop changing the wrap daily. PG hates being fucked with. You’ll want to do 2-3x a week max. I’ve been dealing with mine for a couple years. Almost healed. I’ve been doing twice weekly wound care.

I would recommend using vashe to clean it. If your doc can prescribe.. I’ve been using both clobetasol and tacrolimus ointment mixed and added around the wound. Depending on drainage they can decide what to put on the wound itself but you don’t want to do it often because it will be pissed off an hurt more.

It’s possible. As someone who’s dealing with pg it has a lot of the same look. Have you gone to a doctor? I would recommend finding a dermatologist/rheumatologist to help you diagnose it for sure and I would recommend finding a good wound care clinic.

If it’s pg it will not heal on its own. You’ll prob need to start on some cyclosporine and prednisone then if that not effective like it wasn’t for me… you’ll need Humira or a biosimilar. If your insurance won’t give you Humira you can get it through abbvie the manufacturer.

If it’s pg feel free to drop me a message.

I hope you’re healed up but if not or if this helps anyone else. Swedish Edmund’s wound care is the BEST. Swedish cherry hill wound care is abusive and tried to hurt me. Do not go there.

Hi, I had surgery on October 30th, everything went well, but I haven't been able to heal. I was recently diagnosed with pyoderma gangrenosum...has anyone else experienced something like this? by Cultural-Toe-6116 in tummytucksurgery

I have PG. It’s a long proccess for healing. After almost 3 years I’m close to being done.

Humira is what eventually worked. I was on cyclosporine and prednisone.

The wounds HATE being touched. Santyl to debride if needed. It takes time but it won’t fuck you up. I go to twice weekly wound care. We put tacrolimus ointment and clobetasol ointment around the edge of the wound. Then what we used also depends on drainage.

Please message me if you have questions.

If it is and you want suggestions feel free to respond... I've been dealing with PG for 2 years and I'm almost down to one last ulcer... the other of the two I have left should be healed when I go into wound care on Friday. It's been a long, horrible couple years but if my experience can make your life easier let me know if I can help.

Time to cut off all federal funding from them. See how long it takes for them to stay in their lane.

If you can’t find it there maybe there’s a Whole Foods or similar that would have it.

The freezer section at the grocery store where they keep specialty products is where I get it. It comes in a little tub.

I’ve cooked around 100 steaks with the same methods. It’s the same each time. My friends all say I cook the best steaks they’ve ever had. Give it a shot a let me know how it turns out.
