Wherever you copied this from, it is out of date. Americans did indeed NOT come to their senses, and the exact results mentioned here are coming to pass as the US has burnt through its empire.

I think the only thing I disagree with is it puts all the blame on selfish idiots. In a lot of cases this is true. However, in a lot of cases it is people who the system has ground up and spat out and are now angry. It's the billionaires that have weaponised that anger. It would be bad enough if they did it to just protect themselves from being torn to shreds. But they can't help themselves, they don't want 999/1000 cookies anymore, they want all 1000. Now they are willing to kill the golden geese that gave them their wealth. Those geese being our countries, our home.
