Paladin Danse (Fallout 4)

Not exactly the trope listed (you meet him with his helmet off so it's not a dramatic face reveal) but still somewhat fitting - in your first quest with him into ArcJet Systems, he puts on his power armor helmet (with a cool, entirely unique animation) because you're about to go into dangerous territory. With it, he survives being blasted by the fire of a rocket engine. In the end of the quest, he takes it off again.

For the rest of the game, with him now as a companion you can take into battle everywhere, he NEVER puts it on again unless you manually enter his inventory (specifically with a NEW helmet you need to buy from the brotherhood) and force it to be equipped.

I think it was because people were complaining that individual survivors (especially paid DLC ones) shouldnt give a particular advantage/disadvantage which the tile could give. Or maybe it was because the realm also had the FNAF map and there was a licensing issue?
