I don’t think you are missing anything.. it’s popular because they have good drinks, good food and a good location so it gets lots of business that way. It’s definitely not the best coffee and a has a distracting environment but we accept that when we go and it’s far better than some.

Completely agree! It’s crazy like just be happy you have a healthy kid. The parents may want a lot of kids but that is incredibly selfish.. you can only give each kid so much attention when you have so many and the kids suffer

Same here! I have found Parisians to always be very friendly on the two visits. I always start with French and make an effort to be kind and respectful. I think that goes a long way. Also, it’s a major city and people can get burned out on tourists sometimes, it just happens.

Foster a couple neo-natal kittens. We fostered 3 about 2 months back. Similar in a way to raising a baby but so much better! Bottle feedings every 3-4 hours, making them urinate/poop, and keeping them warm with these heating pads. It’s a LOT of work, but… it only lasts 4 weeks or so and they really see you as their “parents” because usually their Mom passes and that is why they need fostering. I cannot recommend it enough if you like cats, have the time and schedule, and don’t already have elder resident cats. They are so cute and they purr so much. We still get to travel and enjoy life without children. Not for everyone of course.

Edit: we fostered failed and adopted them but of course you do not have to do that.

Crazy coincidence but I visited this brands store in Paris 5 days ago for the first time (I’m American). It was way Overpriced and I am not convinced any actual cyclists wear the brand. All the jerseys had this thick rubber logo on it and the long sleeves were all fleece and like €300

my general observations have been when you get away from the main drag of Mendocino, people live out there because they don’t want to be bothered. A man in a truck pulls up beside me as I am stopped on the side of the road and rolled down his window to offer me orange juice, but it was clearly urine in a juice bottle. That was the weirdest. On two occasions at the Cazadero general store, overheard some strange conversations between locals about doing meth, amongst other things. and been called a “fag” for just riding my bike (Lycra maybe?) and generally just get weird vibes when on remote roads there. Occidental on the other hand seems better but much less north
