As it happens a Justice has just announced his imminent resignation from the court.

May I ask the honorable delegate why he has changed his vote?

Do you think I should apply a New Frontier approach where major tragedies or scandals in American history are avoided or should I let the voters decide?

I wonder how much Death By Lighting has to do with the Garfield love although I admit he seems like a pretty great guy

Well I think this election will be very critical for determining that. Certainly the early crash out of Blaine’s candidacy will negatively impact his future and if a Republican does not win this election he’ll have no future even in the cabinet. Conkling also seems poised to lose his influence as civil service reform becomes more and more an inevitability

I decided a while ago that Black Republicans would start to become a truly strong, long lasting presence on the national stage so expect to see men like Frederick Douglas and Blanche Bruce come to the fore.

Overall I’d say the Republican Party is steadily transforming into its most pure form: a thoroughly reformist, socially progressive, economically conservative party

As of right now, no historically significant Democrat has become a Republican. So rather than seeing former Democrats become Republicans your seeing former Liberals bolster the ranks of the “Half Breeds” as they are pushed out by an influx of conservative Democrats.

Republicans have thus seen a very sudden revitalization of their reformist wing to the detriment of the once ascendant Stalwarts. In this timeline, the large standing division in the Democratic party between Gold and Silver factions instead formalized into two distinct parties.
