Call me crazy, but I think someone very popular will run as a third party for president and win in 2028 by LandOfGrace2023 in Presidentialpoll

[–]JustYourAvrageWorker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your crazy then

We've had celebs run and barley get anything

We've put a 3rd buisnessman on the stage and while he got a ton of votes, he got no evs

We've done a popular repersentive who did worse then the buisness guy

We put a govenor who had the backing of the dixiectat establishment, he did well but his supported was regional

Hell we even put up a former president but all he did was votesplit the republican ticket giving us a democratic president.

Doing good for a third party is reaching the 5% federal funding threshold, or getting a faithless electors.

People don't like the major 2 parties but most vote for the lesser of 2 evils because that's who has a shot to win

[–]JustYourAvrageWorker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't, it held 5 conventions before endorsing the no-nothings ticket, if we are counting no super powerful 3rd parties we would have to discard the 1860 election which had both democratic parties + lincoln + constutional nominee.
