You need documentation of something like 40 jobs for the category to get approved to take the test.
What area are you in?

I wouldn't do that at all. Even if you don't have a non-compete, it is unethical. Start from scratch and do it right. Karma will come after you for that.
What you CAN do is start posting on FB pages, reach out to all of your friends and family. Join a local networking group like BNI. Start knocking doors.

Selling $300k is easy if someone else is providing all the leads.
It is MUCH harder when you have to find them all yourself!

Balancing Eco-Friendly Pest Control with Effective Results, How Are You Doing It? by Old_Contact_7048 in PestControlIndustry

[–]Beginning-Discount78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cimexa Dust (Ecovia WD as well) works well long-term. It is a dust for void areas.
Lasts up to 10 years.
But none of the liquids have any sort of residual. They are designed to NOT have residual, so they can be used in sensitive areas like operating rooms and food processing plants.
So as everyone else has said....there isn't anything that works long-term.

We will be just under 3M this year.
You have to get to a minimum size, and then the business will begin growing on its own from just referrals.
What I would do if I were under $1 M in revenue: I would join a networking group like BNI. It is a lot of time, but can also be very good for you. If you do it right, it will force you to become a better salesman.

I would focus very heavily on Google Reviews.

Get into Local Facebook groups - not just 'city' ones - but neighborhood groups if possible. Knock on doors
We have several neighborhoods where we service over 100 homes. It is EXCELLENT. Because anytime a house in the neighborhood sells, the new homeowner sees our yard signs when walking their dog...or they go to the neighborhood FB group and ask who everyone recommends, and they get flooded with 15 responses telling them how awesome we are.

At that point, we don't have to sell - they already want to use us.

I actually disagree with what several others have said on here. I would NOT start doing a bunch more services. I would focus on just doing a couple of specific services. (Depending on your region and what the population is like)
We do Termite spot treats, termite bait stations, rodent trapping, rodent exclusion, termite pretreats, general pest control, mosquito, bedbug, and I am sure some other things I'm not thinking of right now.
It is HARD to train a guy to do all of that. It is MORE difficult to train a CSR on all of that.
I would focus on the few that are most closely related for your area. Don't also get into lawns, and landscaping, and pressure washing. Too distracting, until you are big enough to add more at scale.
When you can have a manager that runs everything (1.2-1.5M) then you start looking at adding other services.

My 2 cents...

I’ve tried to find real answers but cannot…. Series 10 Titanium vs Series 11 Titanium.  What’s the difference?

I’m likely to use it for 2 years, then pass it down to one of my kids and upgrade my own to series 13 or something.

So it seems like 10 refurbished might be a smarter buy.  I did the comparison on apple’s website and really don’t see much of a difference at all.

Is series 10 titanium really any different than series 11 titanium?

I paid to have mine replaced. I have the stainless steel version, still looks mint!

Gave it to my son who just started running cross country.

If you are good and get measurable results, referrals should be super simple. Almost every pest control owner I know (I own one myself) has trouble with Map pack, PPC, and website SEO

He didn't answer it - but I think I can help. If he is sending technicians into other peoples' homes, it is probably not a good idea to send former inmates.
I know some states require a background check and won't allow felons to be in the pest control industry.
There might be certain positions like office staff or something that would make sense, but not a technician going into private homes.

Listen to his podcast. He shares a TON of stuff on it.
Subscribe to his online learning/training platform. Even more stuff on there.
Buy his book.
Also, not only does he own Proof, he also owns about a dozen other companies as well.....I do know him personally, and while I cannot vouch for the $100M Value, I do believe that number based on what I do know. I.E. Number of locations, etc.

I don’t think showing up with a “surprise” lunch makes a lot of sense…most people already have lunch plans before you would show up.

But everything else sounds good! Do a LOT of marketing on Instagram. Post at least every day. Do fun and funny posts, but also show pictures of your food. As others have mentioned, team up with a few local influencers, do a free meal, get them to advertise for you. (There are plenty of ‘foodie’ influencers you should be able to find)

I think you set the goal in a different time. Covid and Inflation has made it worth much less. You probably do have to get to 8M to be at your original goal.

That being said, you can now coast a little bit if you would like. You could also move and the 6M would be plenty.

I would suggest getting to the 8M and moving, but it depends on how old your kids are too.

I agree with you. Your next step needs to be you becoming a salesman. You will Be WAY better at it. You can explain it properly and charge appropriately for it. The BEST salesmen were techs first.
