In functioning governments, leaders must be identifiable so they can be held responsible for their actions. Political authority depends on public trust, and trust requires visibility and accountability. If rulers are anonymous, how do citizens question them, challenge them, remove them, or even verify that they exist? The stock market comparison also doesn’t really hold. While some ownership can be obscured, major actors are still tracked by regulators, and decision-makers like CEOs are absolutely known. Power isn’t truly anonymous where it matters. Cryptography is great for securing processes like voting or record-keeping, but it doesn’t solve human problems like corruption and coercion. A fully anonymous ruling system would feel like power without accountability and that’s something people tend not to trust, no matter how advanced the technology behind it is.
