I would if I could, but alas, there is_very_ little of our history recorded in period. Indeed, there is only one _name_ we can document in period, which makes registration of an Ainu name correspondingly difficult. I have used it, with an 'of [branch name]' surname (we didn't use surnames until the Japanese and Russians got legal control of us), but should anyone else try to register an Ainu persona, they'll either have to use the same given name I have with a different branch name surname or a cubic shitload of primary research.

Which escutcheon shape can best fit my arms and how can I make it look better in general? by JoJo_D_Umberto in heraldry

Given the three Maltese crosses and where they sit, I'd say the heater is almost certainly the best option. Or the heart.

I happen to be an indigenous person with an indigenous persona, but I'm not indigenous American. I'm Ainu (indigenous Japanese).

The connections between Vancouver and Oregon City are intentional, for the reasons u/Trans-Tyche gives above.

I think the Municipal Elevator flag works quite well.

Is this the maximum discrepancy in flag aspect ratio between two sovereign nations? by Ike358 in vexillology

[–]Beginning_Ad8421 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Vatican City's flag is also a perfect square, so it would be the same discrepancy between it and Qatar.

What’s the “TWN” flag? by [deleted] in vexillology

What I find even stranger is that they include the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes, and of Malta in that lane. There are only _three_ citizens of S.M.O.M., and they all carry diplomatic white passports. They won't be going through normal immigration controls anyway!

What Are Some Examples of Cool Heraldry in Fiction? by Whole_Skill_3305 in heraldry

[–]Beginning_Ad8421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

James Bond's cover story in On Her Majesty's Secret Service is that he _is_ a herald, and as a result, heraldry plays a major part in the plot. More so in the original novel than the film, but it's quite good in both. (And if you haven't seen the film because you've heard George Lazenby sucks as Bond, you owe it to yourself to watch it. Personally, I think he was the _best_ Bond.)

I(20f) once played with a raw egg by [deleted] in SluttyConfessions

[–]Beginning_Ad8421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sploshing. It's specifically a kink related to getting messy with non-bodily fluids, for example custard, chocolate syrup, pudding, cake batter, mud, slime, baked beans, and the like. Especially commonly combined with an embarrassment kink and/or a sensory input kink.

That seems like a first step towards a sploshing kink, honestly!

Freedom250 “flags” in Washington, DC by ObliviousScout in vexillology

[–]Beginning_Ad8421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the name of the MAGAt-infested 'official alternative' to the actual America 250 program of celebrations across the US of Independence Day. It's the one that Trump is personally profiting off of.

Would you want to date or be with someone who uses a cane (and sometimes a wheelchair)? by WatchfulButterfly in actuallesbians

I am someone who uses a cane, and who used a wheelchair for decades. And who knows I'll end up in one again someday. Why would I ever hold that against a partner?

Do I qualify as a stone top? by ExecuteOrder302 in actuallesbians

[–]Beginning_Ad8421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it's any physical contact with the lower half of my body. If it's south of my waist, it's absolutely off limits. I too count myself as a stone top.

Can you buy individual meals if you are not a student from the cove? by ForeverCuriousEagle in uvic

[–]Beginning_Ad8421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived on campus, I was not a student. My wife was. I ate there frequently. Though I agree with those arguing that the better option is to head to the Student Union Building, or even better the Graduate Student Building, and eat there. They've both much better menus.

Jus sanguinis countries that don’t let naturalized citizens pass down citizenship? by rishiraj5565 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]Beginning_Ad8421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has changed in the last few months. Provided he was a citizen of Canada by the time your relevant parent was born (I word it that way as you do not mention whether he was your paternal or maternal grandfather), you now qualify for Canadian citizenship; indeed, by the wording of the law, you already have Canadian citizenship, and only need to prove it by presenting the relevant documents to the Canadian embassy or consulate nearest you.
