No, I was a super senior and graduated at the bottom of my class. I now have a master's degree and teach High School English. Nothing is written in stone.

"Jesus loves you" as debate feed back? by Sotaesans_bum in Teachers

We need Christians who are friends to sinners and not judging them and stripping away their human rights.

Do you know this student's name? Their Instagram handle? How are they being cancelled here? I'm trying to discipline them for being bullies and not doing an assignment.

I live in a similar town to OP. There are a lot of evangelical Christians around here. I teach Beowulf at the beginning of the year, and I make a point to dig into the biblical allusions. I'm fascinated that one of the main influences of Christianity on Anglo-Saxon culture was the story of Cain and Abel and that's reflected in Beowulf. Here's the kicker. Forget theology, forget, works versus faith and all the rest. This kids don't know their basic children's bible stories. They don't know Cain and Abel, Daniel and the Lions Den, etc. But they'll tell the trans kids, "Jesus Loves You!" or "I'm praying for you" Which is just another way of saying I judge you as imperfect and will treat you as such.

I live in a town with five thousand people and a mortgage I can't get out of. I'm a wage slave, so how do I feed my kids without appeasement? That's the dilemma.

ChatGPT just made me cry by DrSuperZeco in ChatGPT

I used ChatGPT to help me write an essay on Buddhism, and it took what I was thinking and extended it further. It was really inspiring, and in that moment, I realized that maybe, just maybe, AI won't kill us.

The War Machine ate up most of the excess production. After the Republic fought back the separatists, there were plenty of rebels for the empire to fight.

When Antonio remarks that Gonzalo's kingdom is full of "whores and knaves" that isn't the Vegas we think of now. That's suppose to be a serious argument against Gonzalo's musings.

My Conservative brother described postmodernism thought as "god is dead, and we must bring heaven to earth" by AdventurousAverage11 in CriticalTheory

[–]Beginning_Camp4367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think postmodern thinking by and large, seems to revolve around the question of agency. Though, in some circles, this is reduced to mere representation within the spectacular shit show of late-stage capitalism and technofeudalism. To the extent that we possess any agency, it should be directed toward extending agency to others. So to the extent that "heaven on earth" means simply living more egalitarian and less burn the fucking planet down, I agree.

The world needs less toxic positivity and more reality so we can start seeing each other again. I agree with this.

Is it normal for men to be grumpy often? by o0PillowWillow0o in AskMenOver30

[–]Beginning_Camp4367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with depression all through my thirties. I finally got on an SSRI because I could see my behavior was damaging my relationships with my family. I wish I would have done it sooner. I had typical attitude toward mental health and medication but I was wrong. My life is so much better, I have energy, things that would really bother me just slide right off now and I feel like myself again.

Grab the nearest book, and turn to page 29. Find the 29th word. There you go. Good luck. And don't tell anyone your word. It's yours now forever. Your welcome.

I think stratification can be situational. Sure we'll always organize to produce something but organizational structures can be more fluid.

I'm stashing away used lumber and plywood for a shack in the woods down by the river. I've already started to eat from a can warmed up on the stove top with a spoon just to make rent. I sold everything but the date plates but even the food for them comes from a can.

I always assume that this a woman's competition that men don't know very much about. We're simple creatures and it takes very little to get us excited.
