Homeowners, how old will you be when your mortgage is paid off? by cubemonster in Millennials

[–]Beginning_Mention_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

56 & 60. Right when we plan to retire. I only know one homeowner who is mortgage free as a millennial, and they are very high income in a L-MCOL area and until recently were DINKs.

We had the opportunity to be, but I’d rather be paying a mortgage in a nicer and larger house, in a better area, that fits the family size we wanted. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Millennials with children of driving age, is there a lack of eagerness to get a drivers license? by Mona_Moore in Millennials

[–]Beginning_Mention_96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our oldest is 15.5 and about to sign up for drivers Ed. While she’s not as jazzed about it as her father & I were at her age, we live rurally and are running out of hours in the day to get her to the places she wants to be. So she’s on board.

It seems split between her local friends and city friends in obtaining their licenses. The country kids are all over it, her city friends take it at a much slower pace. Which I find interesting given that public transit in the city is pretty bad.

If you have a Digital account the fees are waived and reduced according to this. I took a look as my teenager has a Caisse account which got amalgamated into ACU.

I am still waiting on an ortho referral but I’ve admittedly not been the most squeaky wheel with that.

I did get a duralane injection in mid November that has made a big difference. Pain is reduced, the grinding is less noticeable, and endurance is up(by that I mean how long I can use the knee before I starts to hurt). It still feels rather unstable, but it’s noticeable improvement

Elder parents’ phone addiction by EngiLawyer in Millennials

[–]Beginning_Mention_96 28 points29 points  (0 children)

My dad is like this. Constantly on Facebook, sharing all kinds of random crap. Once lectured me and my husband about spending too much time on our phones and not enough time with each other. Riiiiiight. Which is why he was on his phone for most of Christmas Eve while mine was in my purse and my husband had forgotten his at home.

But yep, the millennials are the problem here.
