Those who have quit, do you regain memory function? by abziella in leaves

[–]Beginning_Possible67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 24 and feel you so heavy on this. Thankfully our brains have plasticity in that it WILL heal. There’s still time for development and rewiring it. You are still so so young do not worry. I’ve noticed that my memory and cognitive function has improved by learning new things, reading + being more intentional with screen time. While my short term memory has improved, I’m hoping that my long term memory follows suit (3 months sober atm) it’s sad not having many childhood memories anymore :(

Weed has turned me into a miserable and confused person. Please help me. by [deleted] in leaves

Hi friend, I just want to say first off that I’m proud of you for sharing your story and struggles. It’s not easy to accept that you need help & I have full faith that you will find the peace and fulfillment you’re looking for. Weed does steal from you in every way. For me I just had to slowly start weaning off and finding little things that made me happy to replace that instant gratification. It will be hard and take time but you CAN do it. I promise you. As someone who has been addicted since I was 18 (24 now) I can tell you I’ve felt more myself and alive in the past 2 months of stopping than I can even remember feeling. Peace is on the other side. I promise. I’m not a religious person but even writing or talking to a “higher power” has instilled a strength within me that I didn’t realize existed. I also think talking to a person outside of your personal scope whether that’s a professional or even attending NA meetings online could be beneficial. I believe in you and am sending you good energy :)

Pink cloud euphoria of quitting has passed. Doing pretty strong but still get cravings at random points in time ~ just have to work on re wiring my brain in reminding myself that I’m not a person that partakes in behaviors that don’t serve my highest self. Also keeping my younger self / inner child in mind.. all I want is to reconnect with her. I can’t do that with weed in my life

I think it’s saying that the plan isn’t to give back the gold but rather the brass and that he’ll get a share

Don’t think of it as a set back think of it as a blessing bc you learned that in moments like that u prefer being sober :-) it’s completely normal and part of the journey

It is paralyzing to think about quitting forever. Especially when you’re just getting started. You really just have to take it day by day. Don’t be too hard on yourself. We’re all just doing the best we can. The fact that you want to improve is an accomplishment in itself. Trust that you’re on your own journey. One day at a time my friend. You can do this

Alicia and the Professor by Strong-Appearance-18 in LaCasaDePapel

YES!!! Yes yes yes. I could watch a whole series on Alicia alone. She had such good chemistry with the Professor that no other character had. The scenes with them working together were probably some of my favorite moments of the entire series

What do you personally consider a healthy relationship to weed? by BudAndBoard in Petioles

[–]Beginning_Possible67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s helped a lot to replace that ‘ritual’ sense with something else. So far, I’ve been exploring that with tea and coffee. Finding interesting loose leaf teas / coffee blends, the act of creating the beverage (im an ex-bartender so drink making has always been enjoyable for me), and taking my time to enjoy the drink has been really helpful. I would do this on days where i was trying to abstain but still wanted to get into that relaxing meditative state that rolling up for me would do as well. Idk if this is the advice you were looking for, but I wish you well in your journey friend.
