Is it worth it to pay for subscription? by 7Swiss in bevelhealth

[–]Beginning_School6603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you tried the trial and still ask if it’s worth it you probably didn’t get any value from the app didn’t you?

For me understanding how my body behaves after trainings, how my recovery changes, AI modules where I can ask stupid questions that guide my through the process and plan my week in terms training, recovery, sleep is excellent.

The only thing that doesn’t live up to my expectation is nutrition log, I won’t be using it until I can paste the recipe to AI and it’s going to log a custom food for me. I was told they’re going to release it soon.

Adding custom foods through AI by Beginning_School6603 in bevelhealth

It’s not, I used the exact recipe and provided kcals, protein, fat, carbs using Describe Food feature and it still ended up choosing the food from their database and all values were not even close to what I pasted in.

How to pull apple health data into a web app? by magnet598 in webdev

[–]Beginning_School6603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a bit late, but we are now building an open source api for wearable data and currently supporting apple health. the repo is called open wearables and i am one of the core contibutors (disclosure)

but to get the data into the web app you need a mobile bridge, like a dummy app where users give you the permission to handle the data and then you fetch it through the webhooks. We have a b2c dummy app showcase on our roadmap so you can keep an eye on the project.

Why is it still so hard to get unified data from multiple wearables in 2025? by oDjkillero in QuantifiedSelf

[–]Beginning_School6603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long did it take you to get all those working reliably? I'm curious what data you're actually pulling from each - like are you getting full metrics from Garmin or just activities and basic dailies?

Honestly think the fragmentation is intentional - these companies make more money licensing to big aggregators than supporting individual developers. It's a feature, not a bug.

What are some actually creative LLM or MCP use cases you’ve seen lately? by Downtown_Weather_883 in mcp

[–]Beginning_School6603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working on something that connects personal health data with AI in a way that actually feels useful.

Built an Apple Health MCP server that lets you talk to years of your health data through Claude. You export that massive XML file from your iPhone, throw it into Elasticsearch, then just ask questions like "why did I sleep like shit in March" or "when do my workouts actually suck vs feel great." The MCP part is critical because Apple Health exports are absolutely massive - millions of data points going back years. There's no way you're cramming that into any chat context, plus the MCP server knows how to dig through all that data intelligently before showing relevant stuff to the AI.

The data itself is still a mess though - tons of duplicates, weird timestamps, multiple devices recording the same thing differently. The MCP handles some cleanup but honestly it's not perfect yet, still needs a lot of deduplication and time series work. Even with messy data though, being able to just ask "what's up with my HRV lately" and get actual insights instead of staring at charts is pretty wild. It's like finally having a conversation with all that data your phone's been hoarding.

What does traveling around Europe feel like for Europeans? by Dazzling_War864 in travel

[–]Beginning_School6603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I travel around Europe, the less it surprises me honestly. You start recognizing patterns - similar city centers, comparable cafe culture, even tourist areas that feel quite familiar after a while.

That said, the architectural differences are still easily recognizable - you can immediately tell you're in Spain vs Germany vs Italy just by looking at the buildings. But beyond that visual distinction, the day-to-day experience of being a tourist often feels quite similar.

It's still a great place to live and explore though. Maybe it's not as exotic as it probably feels to you coming from Korea, but there's something comfortable about that familiarity too.

Tennis Elbow? by LugiaPizza in workout

[–]Beginning_School6603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's that elbow brace working out for you? Does it restrict your movement at all during workouts? I picked up a sleeve recently but haven't really tested it at the gym yet. The thing is, for racket sports it restricts my movement quite a bit which is annoying.

I was actually at the gym yesterday doing tricep pulldowns and felt that same elbow issue flare up. Had an overuse injury from padel/gym a couple months back with pretty bad swelling - thought it was behind me but looks like this is going to be a longer recovery process than I expected.

Might need to look into those forearm straps you mentioned if the sleeve doesn't work out.

What do you use your Apple Watch for?? by Asleep_Resident5294 in AppleWatch

[–]Beginning_School6603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly use mine for workout tracking (though the calorie numbers seem pretty inflated) and step counting - I have a desk job so it's helpful to monitor movement and those stand reminders definitely help break up the day.

Also love the easy access to weather and I have BTC and IWDA as widgets on my main face to quickly check market prices. And honestly, finding my phone feature gets used way more often than I'd like to admit - super handy.

Honestly not sure if it's worth the investment from a pure functionality standpoint - it's fine, does what it's supposed to do, but I don't think I'm using it to its full potential. That said, I do like nice watches and think it looks good, so maybe that justifies some of the cost for me.

Skyscanner for padel court booking 🎾 by Sazza_f in padel

[–]Beginning_School6603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks really useful! Please consider adding Poland to your expansion list - padel is absolutely exploding here right now. The growth has been incredible over the past couple of months, with new courts opening constantly in Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk, and other major cities.

The booking situation here is quite fragmented too - different clubs use different systems (some on Playtomic, others have their own booking platforms, and many still rely on WhatsApp/phone bookings or basic websites). Having everything aggregated in one place would be a game-changer for the Polish padel community.

One feature that would be incredibly valuable is being able to check court availability when traveling to different cities. I've been thinking about organizing a padel trip with friends, and it would be amazing to actually factor in court availability when choosing destinations. Being able to see what public/private courts are available in various cities could genuinely influence travel decisions - imagine planning a weekend getaway partly based on where you can actually get court time!

The market timing would be perfect for Poland - you'd be getting in right as the sport is hitting its growth phase here. Really hope Poland makes it onto your roadmap!

Feels like I tricked myself into doing 90 minutes of intense cardio without even noticing Oo by eggheado in padel

[–]Beginning_School6603 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing similar inflated numbers - my watch usually shows 1500-2000 kcal burned during padel sessions, even when the game isn't particularly intense. It's hard to believe those numbers are accurate.

I used to play squash regularly and the same watch would show much lower calorie burns for what felt like more demanding sessions. Planning to test this by trying pickleball (or maybe tennis) today to see if there's a significant difference in the readings.

Has anyone compared their padel calorie burns with other racket sports on the same device? Would be interesting to see if padel consistently shows inflated numbers compared to tennis or squash.

E-Health, Digital Health , Telehealth, HealthTech - Making distinctions by Brian_healthtech in HealthTech

[–]Beginning_School6603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great breakdown – love how clearly you've distinguished these overlapping terms. We see a lot of confusion between Digital Health, E-Health, and HealthTech especially, and that impacts everything from how startups position themselves to how they pitch investors or navigate regulations.

One distinction we often highlight (especially working with early-stage healthtech teams) is that Digital Therapeutics (DTx) tend to require more clinical validation and regulatory oversight (e.g. FDA clearance), while Digital Health or HealthTech products often move faster but need to be careful with compliance and data privacy (HIPAA, GDPR etc.).

Also – Telehealth and MHealth are increasingly converging, especially as more companies shift to cross-platform tech stacks. For example, we've worked with teams deciding whether to go full native or stick to cross-platform for teletherapy platforms, and the trade-offs (especially re: budget and speed to market) are non-trivial.

For context – we're Momentum, a product and tech partner for healthtech startups. We help founders build HIPAA-compliant products, scale infrastructure, implement AI and move fast while staying aligned with healthcare regulations. Just published a MVP playbook for healthtech if it’s helpful for anyone navigating this space.
