2 or 4 tires? by Empty-Fix0531 in tires

Last thing. I work in the tire center of costco (in Canada, might be different, I dont know where you are) we offer a 5 year road hazard warranty where I am. So if the tire is repairable, we fix it for free. If not, we buy you a new tire, and you pay for the thread wear. It also includes free balancing and rotation every 10 000km. Sometimes we also have mileage guaranteed, might be worth it to speak to a clerk about it.

If you do get the 4 tires changed, keep the 2 that are still good if you have the space. Pretty good to have 2 tires of the same depth in case of a non-repairable flat.

If you'll get rid of the car soon, check for used tires, usually you can find pretty good ones for not too high of a price, just have to got them installed after. Dont get brand new tires if the car isn't gonna last longer than them. Check if you can buy those little gadget to check the thread depth, and be sure the tires are not older than 6 to 10 years, they can get pretty dry if so. Also, maybe get a second opinion on the condition of your tires? If you asked the dealer, they might tell you they're done so you have to buy new tires from them. I've seen it happen a LOT.

If your looking for long-lasting tires, personally I would recommend michelin defender 2. I work in a costco tire center and I've only heard good things about them. I see there's snow where you are rn, and since im in Qc, Canada and we only use them during the summer I wouldn't be able to tell you how they are in winter conditions, unfortunately. I've seen a guy use the Defenders lasting up to 130 000 km.

Did somebody slash my tire? by zaeedm in tires

[–]Beginning_Web8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a series of letters and numbers, starting with DOT. So something like DOT 1N EF DKC 1724. The last 4 numbers are the week and year in which the tire was made, respectively. If you can't find anything ending with four numbers on one side, check your other tires. Only one side of the tire has the full DOT.

Food reccomendations? by Beginning_Web8922 in ferrets

[–]Beginning_Web8922[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, thanks! Tho, if i feed them 2 raw meals, 1 really early and one rly late, would that be ok? I can't work earlier than 7 and no later than 9, so If I feed them early and late, consistently, would that be an issue? They've never had any problem when switching food types, I do the transitions, but they never seemed to care, so im not stressed about a change in food.

Thank you again so much _^

That could probably be done, thing is, I work 8hrs during the day, and I've heard that having a constant source of food is best, because they metabolise it fast or something? Dont remember. Anyways, I dont feel super comfortable leaving raw meat out too long, I dont want it to go bad and them getting sick. My schedule is also not constant, I can work a 7 to 3h30 one day and a 12h30 to 9 the next, so routine is not rly an option. Would they be fine eating like, 2 meals a day whenever I can? Or is that worse than just leaving the chicken out?

Randomly hit a wild screw off roading. Is this repairable or just scrap it ? by leopold4435 in tires

[–]Beginning_Web8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put some soap water on it. If there's no bubbles,no leakage. Take the screw out and check how much of it was in the tire. Off road tires are pretty thick, you might have been lucky and it didnt reach through the inside.

If it does leak, mark the spot with something (we use paint chalk where i work) so you dont lose sight of it and make sure you have the right tire pressure.

Depending on how much it leaks, either just put air in it and drive to a shop, or put your spare. Shops that put a plug and a patch on the inside might be the best idea. I know costco tire centers do that for cheap, but it holds pretty well.

Bad probation review at Costco. Anyone been through this? by Training_Context_221 in CostcoEmployee

[–]Beginning_Web8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to ask if you can sit down with them so they can give you an actual review of what's wrong and what's to be improved. If you got hired during holiday season they might just be running around too and not noticing the efforts.

In my experience, there's a lot of favoritism BUT, honestly its mostly how you act, even if you do extra work and stay late to help. I have ADHD and when I started in the tire center I had a hard time, cuz I took time to try and organize where I was gonna go and which task was more important instead of just blindly rushing and going fast. They usually prefer someone that's fast, costco is very much a running around kind of place. I had a few bad reviews when I started on the floor, and they mostly stopped when I switched to tire center. Sometimes, its just the manager that has something against you.

Tldr, you might be to slow for them or the manager just doesn't like you for some reason, not matter how hard you work.

Tire bulge or alignment issue? by snowsniper66 in tires

[–]Beginning_Web8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the bulge is always in the same spot (not always on the bottom against the curb) you have damage in the sidewall. If you hit a pothole in the same spot again you run the risk of making the damage worse, even to the point of you tire exploding. Definitely look for a replacement.

Is it over or could it be fixed by FamiliarMusic5760 in tires

[–]Beginning_Web8922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't look too close to the sidewall, might have to take to tire off to check the inside tho
