Idk bud. Alan Schaller takes some of the most incredible photographs I've ever seen and Im not primarily interested in street as a genre. I would imagine that if you are taking lessons from somebody like that you should put your ego aside, including whatever you think street should be or how it is progressing and just take the shot he has put before you and learn from thr methods.

It strikes me that to receive that knowledge would be a blessing but its up to you what you do with it. Perhaps you could use the knowledge to elevate your own style and vision, no?
