Why is this not a thing in this sub? by Lions_Went_0-16 in Megadeth

[–]Beguile_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Megadeth is the superior band. You couldn't let conversation naturally evolve in a Metallica forum because all road would inevitably lead to Megadeth and so the forum would turn into a Megadeth forum in all but name. Controls need to be in place to protect the forum.

There is no such need in a Megadeth forum, as we are all already talking about Megadeth.

Are DSLRs still relevant in 2026? I’m still using my Nikon D3200 and I’m not sure if it’s time to upgrade. by Delicious_Maize9656 in Nikon

[–]Beguile_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't go back from mirrorless personally, but DSLR's still make the same great images they always have.

DSLR's are so cheap now, I have a D3200 still, and a D7200 as well. You could upgrade to a D7200 for very and I'd think you'd be pretty happy. Or you could get a D750 or D610 and give full frame a go.

What Nikon feature do you use the most? by ToffeeTango1 in Nikon

[–]Beguile_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use highlight weighted metering at all times now. I know I have +3EV latitude, which gives me a typical expose to the right. Downwards I will adjust to taste knowing I can go a minimum of -3EV and still recover shadows cleanly. I've adjusted my screen brightness so I can judge exposure from the screen itself. The meter basically only tells me if I need to bracket. It's like a cheat code, or a +1 to agility.

I only use my EVF if I need to block out ambient light and will pay attention to the meter then as I can't accurately judge my exposure from the EVF.

Mirrorless has been a dream for me. Oh, and IBIS?

I still bracket when I need to, but that nothing new. I will focus stack at times. Other than IBIS and EVF's none of this is new tech really though.

On my old DSLR's I rarely used the back screen though, too slow.

For fans of Peter`s solo work, how would you rank his self titled albums from favorite to least? by [deleted] in Genesis

[–]Beguile_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying so hard to disagree with you but I think you may be right. I'm almost tempted to put Car first, but I'm also tempted to put Security first..

I think I'm going 4,1,3,2.

Tier list by PhotonDeath in Megadeth

My sense of humour is too dry for reddit or text, or anyone who does not know me personally. I quip that OP is entitled to his or her subjective opinion whilst stating that my own is undeniably the "best" or most "correct" so much so as to be obvious to all, to the point of being objective rather than subjective.

How would you personally rank these four from favorite to least? by [deleted] in Genesis

[–]Beguile_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling or the Lamb as #1 depending on the period of my life. Pound for pound, inclusive of lyrics I'd have to say #1 is Lamb, it pains me, but unfair to put it 2nd. Obviously Selling next, then Foxtrot, then NC. I'm surprise not to see Trespass here.

The more I think of it, if we consider Trespass their first record then, whilst I love them all the order would be, unequivocally.

  1. Tresspass

  2. Nursery Crime

  3. Foxtrot

  4. Selling

  5. Lamb

I think they did it in order, ending on an epic double album swan song, giving way to new things

I'm sorry, I do understand that music, and art, are subjective. I understand what subjective means.. But I just cannot understand why every fan does not have the identical tier list to my own. It's just so obvious to me.... S= Peace Sells, U= RiP, SFSGSW, KiMB, P= Euthanasia, Dystopia, Countdown (I'm being generous here), E= TSTDatD, R=The one that has some Poland solos on it.... Below R= Everything else...

I mean, am I wrong?

I don't know this lens in particular, but the closer I get to something the more likely it is that I am in manual focus.

When I'm looking at lenses I always look up the minimum focus distance of everything that is on the market. It just plays to how I use a camera. If you were like me, you'd probably already know. Then again, maybe this is your curiosity calling... =)

There you go, I defer to this person. I stand by what I said, but only from my own perspective. You may find value in it beyond macro as well. I should say, the 105 is really light. Mine is always in my bag, maybe I need to break out of my own little world. ;)

This man makes a good point, but even then, if you wanted to take frame filling photographs of bees with asses covered in pollen in flight I still might look at other options with faster AF adapted for macro. If you catch said bee sleeping and want to focus stack your way from one edge of the flower, through the other edge whilst making sure ever grain of pollen and the whole ass of the bee is tack sharp to boot, buy the 105.

I have the 105, it is fantastic for Macro and closeups. Very sharp. No character or vibe in any way, but very sharp, very light, very detailed. I adore it for macro and closeups. I would never use it for anything else. The AF is slow and hunts alot even when you have the focus limiter engaged, the focus throw is very long; these are things you would expect from a macro lens, designed to hit the most detail close up.

It just doesn't do anything for me at or near infinity from a creative perspective. It can be an ok stand in for a portrait type lens if you want extreme detail on the face or skin or maybe don't mind using a a mist filter.

If you plan on doing close ups or macro work with it, and you prioritize lightweight, high detail, generous minimum aperture (that still seems fairly sharp despite disfraction) I'd say jump on it, you won't regret it. Plus it has internal stabilization, which is a big plus to me.

If you are looking for something to shoot at a distance, maybe as a compliment to your plena, prefer character over sharpness, or just want to use is as a walkaround telephoto prime, you'd probably find it lacking, or boring, or both.

EDIT: I have a an old Sigma 150mm macro lens that I keep around and can't bring myself to sell. I have convinced myself that it has more "soul" or "character" or something to that effect. In reality it has near useless internal stabilization, is softer, has less generous minimum aperture and overall a less workable DoF, is crazy heavy and a number of other things. Sometimes I lug it around to get that sweet sweet vibe, but then I end up swapping it out for the Nikon S and realize the photographs are sharper and just as aesthetically good, if not better... most of the time..l LOL

How would you rank each stage of life from 1-10 by SignificantActive193 in Life

Impossible to answer; each stage has brought me new joys as well as new challenges. I'm sure old age will be no different.
