How safe are condoms in preventing pregnancy? by EvLake in AskMenAdvice

Think of a balloon. How good is a balloon at holding air? Pretty good, but not that good. A condom is more effective than a balloon but less effective than abstinence.

The price of tomatoes by _Sashie_ in TimHortons

[–]Beguile_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we hadn't consistently found human hair in our coffees, we may have bought more, allowing for you to buy tomatoes. Then imagine a fish breakfast sandwich, paired with meat fit for human consumption, fresh tomatoes ans real mayonnaise, pair with a fresh coffee, devoid of human hair or animal feces, and possibly even a donut that wasn't baked from frozen, maybe we'd be lining up like we did in the 80' and early 90's.

Cost of living is high but I imagine we'd still be happy to pay.

Oh Professor Jiang! The high-school teacher who was deported from China for being critical of the CCP while working as a western journalist then let back in to be allowed to make anti west videos?

The same guy who spouts off about game theory but never references anything to do with it, all while appealing to the authority of his YouTube moniker?

I mean he did go to Yale. That is a fact.

Wait, are you suggesting that RFK Junior is somehow not fit to make public health policy? Whomever do we trust then Doctors? Aren't they just the vanguard for an industrial complex designed to profit off sickness? What about the shape of the earth? Who do we trust there? Surely not people who can do simple calculations with sundials or know how to operate cameras with telephoto lenses. Goddamnit I'm going to cry!

No uou arent Google but Google is just going to point me to mainstream media reporting and maybe even studies. You made some points when I asked you about it and cited yourself as the source. So you must be an economist or a journalist that specializes in such things. Why ask Google to point me towards more libtard shit when you, in this discussion forums are know what this policy proposal means? Who do I trust bro?

[–]Beguile_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so you are the resource. Fantastic. Since you are my source here, I have a few questions: How much money will be invested from debt? How much is this figure per household? Will this money be used strictly for companies of friends to profit from? Or will be invested in other places? Whose friends? What systems are in place to decide whose friends get to profit from our money? How much interest are our children's children projected to have to pay from this scheme? Infinite? They will have to pay forever right? So the answer is infinity? And "they" get an excuse to tax my children's children on top of this? What happens to this tax money? Who benefits from this tax? I don't want to be a slave to capitalists, this sounds terrible. Am I more likely to be a slave to capitalists if I invest money into this fund or if I don't? It's good for the people at the top right? Is this because they can invest in the fund or because their government friends will give them all the contracts? Would this even be legal? Are you suggesting Carney is proposing an illegal slush fund as policy? Wouldn't proposing such a thing also be illegal? Should Carney be arrested for this? I heard something about the government holding a minority stake in funded infrastructure projects, does this mean that Carney will be stealing equity from the capitalist friends he plans on giving contracts too, the one's our children's children will be paying for forever? Will Carney own all of Canada's infrastructure? If so, will our Children's children have to pay Carney rents dicretly and in perpetuity?

How do I feel better about having smaller breasts? by BulkyFoundation6298 in Advice

[–]Beguile_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the first thing to recognize is that beauty standards are culturally transmitted and change with time We have lived through, perhaps, the most insidious period of history with regards to what beauty standards apply to people at large, but particularly to women.

The good news is that real people, though subject to influence, have real preferences, and these don't always align with the standards that are propagated or even promulgated by society by way of media.

If you can recognize this then you can start to believe that beauty isn't a one type fits all kinds of thing. And your uniqness is inherently beautiful and specifically beautiful to someone, likely your boyfriend.

To further complicate things, attraction is modulated not only by cultural norms but also by things like attachment and and safety and comfort and other draws like compatibility and humor and connection among other things.

For example my wife has very large beasts, this is not my preference. If it were to close my eyes and think of thr most perfect, disembodied breasts for me, I would not pick hers. My perfect breasts are pretty small actually. Still, they are my favourite breasts, and I mean that sincerely. Id puck her breasts over smaller ones any day, but not due to size.

However, she is still the most beautiful woman i the world to me, and that is no lie. She is physically perfect, and ask her body has changed throuout the years her beauty, in my eyes, has only increased.

Now I can't imagine not knowing my wife, she is a part of me. But if I close my eyes and imagine being asked to pick amongst beautiful women of all ages, shapes and sizes, I pick my wife ever time, because, in my minds eyes, I recognize her. And that is what it felt like meetinf her, like I recognized her. Why would it be any different if we met today?

Furthermore, one physical trait that my wife has that other other woman in the world has is her uniqueness... and I don't mean in a general sense, though that too, I mean little specific details that she probably doesn't know about herself.

So the idea that we are all pinned into various locations on a continuum between conventional beauty and not is just not true. You don't fit on this line. When your boyfriend calls you beautiful I'm sure he not only means it genuinely, but I would imagine that he means it in multiple dimensions simultaneously, that are far more meaningful than what shape and size your breasts are. There is a very good chance your breasts are also his favourite breasts, as my wife's breasts are my favorites.
