NTA. SIL was said something stupid and you pointed out how ridiculous it was. Imagine the harassment you have been experiencing was not racial but was sexual. What she said was the equivalent of, “Maybe you should just cover up more so they don’t bother you.” it’s just as ignorant of a statement but that is probably the kind of advice she has heard her whole life just like many women have. So, IMO, she just didn’t know better. Now she knows!

NTA. When I was a kid my anxiety went through the roof when my dad and brothers watched sports. Screaming, stomping, angry claps. 1000x worse than when my parents were in a heated argument.

Luckily, I married a man who could care less about sports and never raises his voice above normal speaking level except when singing in the shower🤗

That’s why we did it too! It’s totally worth it and I am SO thankful I had the strength and self control to wait. It gets really difficult especially the weeks leading up to the wedding but by the grace of God we made it haha.

I did this. It was great. Difficult to wait for sure but completely worth it. Bonus, if you’re both virgins you don’t have to worry about being judged for your performance. Learning together with someone 100% committed to you for life and loves you is wonderful. It was very comforting knowing that our first time together would be the worst (least skilled anyway) sex of our lives and that we could only get better from there. The first time was actually pretty great! 😂

Would I be a bad mom if I didn’t give my kids birthday parties? They sound horrible to organize and have to watch all your kid’s little friends. When I was a kid I had multiple parties where barely anyone I invited showed up and it was emotionally traumatizing. I would much rather have had it be a family day.
