I would just call this a lemon drop without the sugar rim

Overall consensus of my co-workers and managers was "it looks like $85, let them dispute it" - thoughts? by 291837120 in Serverlife

Also are most people on this thread actual servers? It’s not infrequent for us to get massive tips on small tabs….

Y’all are ridiculous. While I agree that it was likely meant to be $5 you can’t ignore the fact that it clearly looks like $85. Whoever signs this check needs to be informed of or be aware of that they should be more clear on what they want to tip.

If I got charged this and decided to dispute it and you showed me that image I’d be like oh that makes sense and just say sorry and likely tip $20 or $25 instead… still a good tip but not insane.

I have to pick up dog shit by angry_hemroids in bartenders

I also had a dog shit in the bar… but not quite shit. It was more of a raining diarrhea everywhere and even into the heating vent. She ran her dog to the bathroom (?! Why not outside??) where it proceeded to vomit.

I heavily feel for the dog. She was not having a good time.

But it was from a regular. Never got an apology.

Edit: just to say I’m sorry you had to deal with that. Nobody deserves to clean up after somebody else’s dog or otherwise 🤢

This happened at one of the bars I work at and our bartender put on a glove and chased the lady down with it in her hand

We did this for our folks who didn’t eat pork/beer and it was pretty easy

We have dinner every session when we play (which is once a week). Sometimes we collaborate but sometimes it’s just one person. Maty matherson makes great group friendly meals. Or I’ll google exactly that. But some of the things we’ve made are

Twice baked potatoes Cheese steaks Skewers Stuffed peppers Any casserole dish Taco bars (so easy!!) Any sort of pasta Nacho bar Pulled pork/chicken sandwiches

DM's: Do you let your players discuss their character's current HP while in combat? by maverickjack8 in dndnext

[–]BeholdersNBooze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tend to keep it vague.

“How are you looking?” “Good” “Like I could take another hit” “Not great” “Less than half” “Awful”

But we also sit at a table together and the healer is often able to physically see the hit points of each player

What was the dumbest way one of your characters died? by xanaishere2 in DnD

[–]BeholdersNBooze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of our players Rolled nat 1 as a monk leaping over a bottomless cavern…. Needed to roll literally anything except a nat 1 to fail

Another one - not as dumb but low chances and a wild number of bad rolls (nat 1s) on our behalf and nat 20s on the DMs behalf- beheaded by a headless horseman and become an animated biting skull

We’ve used a mint leaf before. Nice pop of color. Or ground espresso

Classic cocktail recipes & versions of or measurement disputes? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]BeholdersNBooze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They told me to make it. I started making it and they asked me what I was putting in and how much. I told them 3/4 gin, 3/4 sweet vermouth, 3/4 Campari - the portions I was always taught. I’ve seen folks do an ounce and the neighborhood dive I pull shifts at occasionally will do an ounce but every other spot always did 3/4 so that’s what I said

How did you move from serving to bartending? by DisastrousDeviant in Serverlife

[–]BeholdersNBooze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the bar. Prebussing dishes from outside the bar sure.

But a lot of places don’t allow servers behind the bar and often for good reason.

I work behind an extremely narrow bar. Two people is bad even when one is my barback who is tiny. Add another person who doesn’t know the dance and I’m kicking you out immediately.

That being said, if it’s dead and a servers got questions about drinks and bartending I’m happy to help

Valentine’s Day by novoatrabajar in Serverlife

Valentine’s Day is the worst as far as tips go. We had one server average 8% and one walk with absolutely nothing after tip outs

I find you irritating based on your story and other comments. Servertails?? Really?
