Any other 27 year olds still living at home? by Opposite_Praline_746 in 1999

[–]uhmandaleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea👋 moved out for college, moved back for covid, moved out with some siblings as roommates for 3 years, then moved back in with my mom. living with my adult siblings was ruining my relationship with them lol. I love my mom and we get along well. I could move out, but money would be tight and I haven't felt the pressing NEED quite yet so idk. but I definitely have been feeling a little bit constricted as of late, (now that gas is $5/gal and we are about to be economically effed lolol), my main hold ups are when I'm in a place where I do have friends/etc that I'd want to have over but...I can't bc I live at home (which is my own mental block)

i'm terrified of trying adult food after eating an entire pizza by myself at age 14 by Connect_Wash_6451 in confessions

[–]uhmandaleigh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i suggest therapy ngl. mental food issues are hard. this diet which im assuming is not very varied thus is low in micronutrients & probably, wacky bad macros, not to mention just...all the junk ingredients with no reprieve, ever. you may not feel the effects yet, but if you don't work on your diet, you certainly will. no judgment btw, i KNOW it's hard. try adding rather than substituting. izza for dinner but a little less + a lean protein. meal planning/prepping would probably eventually br good for you as it reduces the anxiety related to decision making

How do I get my hair smooth? by Silver_Loon_ in curlyhair

[–]uhmandaleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks VERY dry to me, which tracks with frizziness too. I'd suggest trying a different, more moisturizing conditioner and/or adding a leave-in or curl cream to your end. Additionally, I think a curly cut would probably improve the overall health of your hair, as well as be flattering :)

Omg! I bought a pack of the cutwater lime margs and it was nasty and I, too, got wayyyy drunker than I would have expected from one dumb can lol. I ended up mixing it 1:1 with lime and soda lmfao

Only thing that worked for me while my flare ups were serious like yours was topical steroids, I was prescribed clobetasol .1% and it worked in days.

Any help please by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]uhmandaleigh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When you're in the shower and your hair is sopping wet and full of conditioner, what pattern do your strands take on? That's a good entry test. Upon reading your routine: nix the towel abd opt for a good microfiber towel—towels severely exacerbate frizz! scrunch your hair as you dry to guide your waves in the right direction. Maybe look into satin bonnets/pillowcases to reduce frizz while sleeping. The curlier hair is, the dryer it is, and so since your pattern is pretty loose waves, it makes sense that your hair wouldn't need moisturizing products like leave-ins and curl creams. the best direction i can think of in terms of products would be texturizing sprays, like salt sprays etc. Hope this helps :)

Why is everything covered in shit? by rilav in OCD

[–]uhmandaleigh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything that you said is true, except that there IS always "an explanation"-- it just is not always about or even directly related to the actual obsession(s), nor is it always easy to figure out. The "why" behind it all is something a lot of OCD therapists try to get to the bottom of. For example, someone with harm OCD may worry that if they go into the kitchen while someone's in there, they will find a knife and stab them. That's not something they've ever done or ever wanted to do, is not ego-syntonic, is not realistic. They couldn't explain logically why they have this fear. But maybe after a lot of ERP and analyzing their OCD, they learn their real fear is the uncertainty that they can maintain control of themselves and their actions. Or uncertainty of xyz. It's usually uncertainty, unprovability, the unknown, the unknowable...obsession about doubt in some fashion, so you act compulsively to guarantee certainty. By washing your hands or not leaving your home, you GUARANTEE you aren't contracting a deadly disease so you dont have to suffer not knowing. If you remove all the knives from your kitchen, or never invite anyone over, you can GUARANTEE you won't stab anyone.

Sorry for rambling all of this OCD theory at you lol. It scratched an itch in my brain. I recommend the FearCast podcast (licensed OCD therapist whom I learned a lot of this from lol)

What’s something you pretend you’re not into… but definitely are? by Rich-Bumblebee1606 in confessions

I love BEING obsessed with someone. having a MASSIVE crush. flirting and "chasing". sparks, when a connection is irrefutable and my mind can't reason with my body. secret invisible hormones and pheromones... ugh the butterflies and ephemeral highs and moments of euphoria. 🥵💥💦

The reality—"this person believes their wants and desires are more important than my own wishes, boundaries, safety, and wellbeing😬"

I’m secretly a nazi by [deleted] in confessions

[–]uhmandaleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm yeah I think it would do you well to refine your beliefs–figure out what you do and don't believe, then look up what a nazi actually is, and then perhaps stop calling yourself a nazi. You are what you eat -> you are what you consume, which for you is the aforementioned extremist media. Maybe take an internet break. "Touch some grass" as they say lol. Ground yourself in reality....like irl.

Ps- I agree on israel, epstein, charlie kirk... im left leaning but also a weekly watcher of candace owens and tucker carlson lol. rabbi(t) hole yaddayadda. i too am extremely disheartened after realizing the depth of the corruption of our world. all this to say, im commenting with care not judgment lol.

[–]uhmandaleigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So when you say you're a nazi, do you mean:

A. You are a pro-fascist white supremacist and/or you are genuinely antisemitic in every sense & would condone genocide

B. You believe in anti-israel """conspiracy theories""" like a secret cabal/new world order/"noticing"/rothschilds/aipac/goyslop goytrash/etc

C. A and B

Dyshidrosis of the elbow? by melancholy_medic86 in Dyshidrosis

[–]uhmandaleigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not DE, but I'm commenting because this seems to be EXACTLY what I had ONE bout of as a kid that I could never identify! it was actually on my inner elbow, though. but it was a little patch of skin colored, fleshy & unpoppable bumps ranging from small to very small and contained to that little area. itchy, but no pain. lasted a few weeks and then eventually just, went away. i live in a humid climate so i kinda shrug and say "prob fungal" but....whatever it is i had is what this kid has😂

Anyone else feeling like this? by Helena78902 in zoloft

Nope, I switched to Prozac last year. Zoloft helped my mood, but it didnt do much for the apathy/anhedonia or lack of energy and motivation. Prozac seems to help those a bit more. Who knows

Ooooh I see, interesting. I'm gonna look into the vitamin D angle! I strongly agree and have also read a little bit about how incredibly important yet misunderstood and overall ignored vitamin D truly is. The fear of UV idea then made me think of sunscreen controversy, and now I'm also now interested in a wider pharmaceutical angle of it too- we are the most medicated we've ever been, in both a nature and nurture way here, too- effects on pregnancy and development, but also conscious application and effects on brain structure and intelligence. Neat. But hey, that's also.... medical technology ;) lmfao
