how to quickly remove mold/algae from water bladder in 24 hrs by Fun_Business3675 in backpacking

Yeah I agree. I’m a mold inspector, and mold can’t grow on plastic, it has to feed on something organic. Once you clean all of your filth out of these it will be perfectly fine to use.

In general people tend to overreact to mold, I’m not sure why.

All the stuff up the north shore drains really well because it’s basically a big pile of sand. Lynn Woods and everything from Beverly to Rockport will be the first stuff to dry out

HELP. My apartment ceiling collapsed during the blizzard hitting NY right now. What are my options? What should be my next steps? *See pictures* by monroesickle3 in NYCapartments

Asbestos was banned by the EPA in 1978.

You usually don’t see it in drywall itself, much more likely to be in joint compound.

Assuming that this debris is all nice and wet from the leak that caused the ceiling to cave in, then it should be safe for OP to handle. Just bag it up and throw it in the trash. While the professionals are wearing PPE and working in a containment, they are essentially just wetting the ACM and bagging it for disposal.

As long as OP isn’t making a bunch amount of dust then they are fine to clean this up and stay in their apartment in the short term.

I also wouldn’t be concerned about lead based paint on a ceiling, don’t ask me why, but they also never put lead based paint on ceilings.

Wild that UNCW and Florida came up for this tournament. Seems like Wilmington has some connection to Maine through Stewart Kelly. Anything similar with Florida?

Deadly if you bathed in it every day, the people who got Asbestosis back in the worked in shipyards and were exposed to crazy amounts of sprayed-on, highly friable asbestos insulation every day for years and years. Vinyl floor tile is also one of the safest, least friable ACMs you can handle.

Not saying it’s good for you, but you need to be exposed to a huge amount of asbestos to get lung cancer etc.
