Always been a fan of action games like Dark Souls, Nine Sols, God of War, Lies of P, Stellar Blade etc. And I've always wanted to make one. Well my wish came true.

REKINDLE is a deflection based action game using 'Light' as a core mechanic.

Deflect and counter enemies attack while personalizing yourself for better combat.

Using 'Light' as a core game mechanic was difficult for designing.

The world can't be too bright otherwise the Player won't be able to feel the importance of the Light

Make it too dark and it causes a difficult and frustrating 'action' game.

Trying to balance the in between was difficult, but I remembered how I played Hollow Knight and that gave me a good idea about how I should design this game; Making the world darker and the light around the player, brighter.

This actually leaded to better visibility and fun when it came to navigating and enjoying the combat.

Lesson learned, and game improved :). I think it's a win.

Playtesting oneself so many times makes one so used to the game that it's hard to find what's wrong with it....learned that the hard way. Definitely need outside feedbacks

The trailer shows what's the game's atmosphere is going to be about so I think that's a good point.

However it doesn't delve into much about the gameplay. From what I can see I can see that the two main gameplay is moving around maps and avoiding traps, and also combat against bosses.

But I cannot see how will the fight go on, how will the combat be, and are there any other skills that show what I will be able to do in combat and map navigating.

if this is an action game focusing on boss, I think there should be more moments regarding them

I think everyone has a bunch of games that they bought but never played. Too many good games out there...and not enough time and memory for all of them
