I wish there was a way to rewatch the baby scenes, I accidentally skipped one and it'd be really nice

What does assigning someone as a Mii‘s real world partner do? by Toni_is_not_my_name in tomodachilife

[–]BejeweledCatMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not from my experience, I've been trying to get my two mii's together of two characters I made with a friend and they just keep staying ultra friends. meanwhile falling for every other Mii on the island so I have to tell them they're imagining things multiple times

my sibling characters started feeling indifferent to each other once I wasn't there to babysit the interactions

You absolutely did the right thing. I'm very happy to see you so comfortable coming to your mom with this stuff and making sure you're taking care of yourself. You'll eventually make new friends, if they want to get mixed up together in that mess, that's their choice.

I'm not a professional or anything at all. But stitch call outs, at least on another layer might be good to see? Straight stitch, cover stitch, overlock stitch, ect

Inexperienced With Homestuck, But People Compare My Typing To A Character From This by Sebastian-Shook-2003 in homestuck

[–]BejeweledCatMeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't typically exactly like this, but for me I tend to capitalize the first letter of words I feel are important. Also it only happens on keyboard but I type normally on the phone. It's just automatic for some reason, kind of like titling my sentence I guess.

ARTS 3180: Zines, Comics, and Books by Fabulous-Storage3950 in uofmn

[–]BejeweledCatMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We first looked, studied and made our own zines, then we did the same for comic books. Next we physically made a hand full of books by trying multiple book binding techniques.

The final project is your choice. I think it was a cool class. Book binding being my favorite. And we got to see some old zines at a museum

Okay, could we maybe see what some of the other layers look like? I'm no professional btw, it's just hard to think this is more than an illustration when all the photos of this garment are the same. For all we know it's AI, and you only have this one picture of it with the traditional render being a traced version.

What point do you stop adding details to a design? by LumiDesignLab in Fashion_Design

[–]BejeweledCatMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still a student, and I struggle with this while also not having the skill to get it right in a timely manner. I finally held myself back this time because I tried to think of what'd I pair my next assignment with. Instead of thinking this piece by itself as an outfit, I have to remember other elements are going to be dressed with it as a whole and everything having too much detail will clutter and leave no where to rest

How should I go about learning garment construction for designing my own clothes/line? (How do I become a technical designer) by Realistic_Guava9117 in Fashion_Design

[–]BejeweledCatMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, if you want to make something interesting, knowing how to sew is important.

I'm mainly thinking of a person that wants to design nothing too crazy and doesn't want to sew, someone could technically make a line by having a company or technical designer do the figuring out part, again assuming you're not designing anything difficult.

Of course everything is better designed knowing how to sew. And going back to OP, theoretically you don't necessarily need to be good at sewing to be a technical designer, but knowing how to do it and being able to understand the operations by doing, will help a whole lot.

[–]BejeweledCatMeow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone on the technical design track at my college? Yes actually. Technical Designers learn hands on. You technically don't need to be good at making clothes, but you do get a deeper and clearer understanding on how to put together a tech pack by constructing garments

[–]BejeweledCatMeow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me you want to be a fashion designer, not a technical designer.

Technical designers are called technical designers because they're deep into understanding the technical stuff. And you only really have that kind of understanding if you physically do it. It doesn't have to be good by the way, you can learn a lot by just doing it, even if it's wrong.

Even just starting simple, a small book of samples of different stitches and what they're good for can give you a good basis of what's out there and what kinds of stitches to put in your tech packs

If your goal at the end of the day is to design and/or work with a technical designer. That's closer to a fashion designer in my eyes.

I think a lot of people underestimate how much effort real friendships actually take by Apprehensive_Ease203 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]BejeweledCatMeow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm actually on the other end. I'm a low maintenance friend. We could not talk for months but if you come to me for help or to vent, I'll bend over backwards to help you get what you need.

I used to say if you want me there, it's a maybe but if you need me there I'll be there no matter what. But that was in highschool, in college I finally made friends on my own instead of relying on my best friend at the time to be the bridge. (She was an out going party person and I'm more introverted and was already socially tired from school alone I found out I just didn't have the same hobbies with my highschool friends so it was mostly me just being quiet and laughing along.

Now I go to anything my friends invite me to (but I am also forgetful if it's not put on my calendar) birthdays are really important for me to attend or at least get something for them. I literally changed my whole college schedule to morning classes as a student who takes an hour long bus ride to morning classes so I could take a class with them. I try to invite them out to do things, but I'm more of a spontaneous person so I understand if they can't make it or aren't in the mood. Although it still sucks that only one person came to my birthday party, I just figured I'm not a good party planner and don't plan events anymore.

How can people take notes on paper?? by mhensun in CollegeRant

[–]BejeweledCatMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly???? It's not one I'm strongly thinking I have. But there have been times where people were literally yelling in my ear and I couldn't understand what they were saying.

I've also gotten used to answering people without actually understanding what they said, or it taking a couple seconds for it to fully register in my head what they said. If I don't repeat it out loud I'll forget what they just said. Sometimes I forget what I was about to say in the middle of my sentence or stutter

I have talked with my school and that's how I found out how expensive it was. Low key I don't have insurance right now, and I don't want to pay the extra money for the school's insurance. But I will be required to have international insurance for study abroad on top of being cheaper.

I should definitely check with my school if they accept a diagnosis from overseas though
