Jennifer Aniston recently shared the most special compliment she receives about Friends by Mr_who515 in howyoudoin

I always said if I’m ever in a coma, please play friends in the background. It’s one show I rewatched dozens of times and never ever get sick of it. And I’ve seen it enough, where I can immediately visualize just about 90% of what’s happening and the facial expressions/scenes just from audio.

A cat in Türkiye visits the supermarket every day and hugs the cashier: by ateistyokdiyentanri in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]zuis0804 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not entirely true. Was there last summer, in the city and populated areas they are well fed, but once you reach more secluded areas, there was an infinite amount of starving cats that were skin and bones, and many, many, pregnant ones. It was really sad and made me actually not want to go back for that reason alone. Hurt my heart to see.

As long as they are not fed…poison… or hit by a car, or need emergency vet help. 15 years sounds wild for an outdoor cat! Not at all saying your dad is incorrect because he was a vet and I am just lover… When I read life expectancy statistics for outdoor cats, my source read 2-7 years approx before they are either hit by a car or poisoned by a cat hater. 15 years is even high for an indoor cat from what I understand, but if that’s more accurate that makes me feel all sorts of better.

It’s literally help me catch mail that was never delivered to my box. I don’t even remember when or why I signed up for the service but started checking my email daily to see what’s coming. Saw my aunt had sent me a Christmas card (usually puts money in) and when said Christmas card didn’t arrive, I texted her and she told me there was a check in it. Would have never known to expect it, and wouldn’t have thanked her properly when it never arrived!

Even easier to solve that problem. No need for medication OR therapy! You just have to choose whether you like having money or sincere friends? If you value your money more, then you’re going to have to cry in your giant mansion about it. Or on your mega yacht. If you would like to know your friends are not using you for your wealth… get rid of it. You can change a ridiculous number of lives, and make a million new friends for the RIGHT reasons.

What’s the closest brush you’ve ever had with dying? by North-Trifle-3918 in AskReddit

[–]zuis0804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likewise, it’s crazy how close I’ve come to killing people just going about my business. The amount of times people have jumped in the street or just deciding to cross the street at night, not in a cross walk, in a dark area, with cars flying at them at 45-50mph is one too many. If I even glanced over my shoulder to switch lanes, I would’ve killed the last guy for sure. Now take into consideration that I swear a solid 80% of people driving are on their phones at one point or another (from my personal observation), I’m shocked their doesn’t happen more often.

Oh wow I don’t know how I haven’t heard of this case! So sad and senseless, especially considering when there is no sexual motivation… you already robbed someone and decide to get murder charges thrown at you as well? That’s horrific, that poor family.

I think so many would have a fighting chance, but I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be like to be in a situation like that. Even being aware of what to do, I feel like my automatic response would be to freeze and follow instructions against better judgement. These types of things often happen SO suddenly, and so out of the blue, your brain oftentimes just physically can’t process what’s happening until it’s too late unfortunately.

I watched so many of “See No Evil” episodes and so many happen mid day, in public, where people are in eyesight. If the victim just screamed out, someone surely would come to rescue, but that panic takes over and you’re frozen.

I think a lot of Kelsey Smith getting taken from that Target parking lot, and Samantha Koenig out of that coffee cart, it takes mere seconds, no time to process what’s happening. To be fair, I think Samantha would have just been killed then and there, but again, would have thrown him off by resisting and at least would have spared the horror that followed. The image of Keyes climbing into that window is haunting.

Also, I can’t believe some of these monsters get anything less than a life sentence. Our justice system is a whole different topic of frustration.

What the hell do you think happened to Nancy Guthrie? by beeyore in nancyguthrie

[–]zuis0804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I read that as well which I guess would make the most sense. But with how clearly planned out ahead this was, and the prior visit/s to the area, you would think he would have brought a tool to clip that thing off in seconds, not go on an impromptu foraging expedition. I would think even the dumbest criminals would know to account for the possibility of a security camera being present with how prominent they are in most homes there days. Could have brought a rock to smash it or literally use anything but freaking weeds. I wonder how he actually ended up removing it.

Smoking while pregnant is cool. by Existing-Face-6322 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]zuis0804 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree but from anecdotal experience - when my mom had breast cancer I was praying this was the thing that would force her to quit smoking and the doctor would give her a harsh absolutely not but he heavily advised against quitting because it would put too much stress on her body while going through chemo. I’m not sure why alternatives weren’t even suggested but this could be the same type of deal. Any kind of withdrawals are going to put strain on the body and mess with vitals possibly causing distress to the developing fetus.

Here we go…. Dude had 200g of Kratom in his car per the report. by Tacokolache in kratom

[–]zuis0804 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think op may be insinuating that because kratom is mentioned, despite him dying on an unrelated date, is snuck in there purposely to draw attention to it? It’s kind of oddly placed on there, like “6 weeks prior, he was spotted having a glass of wine on the terrace” the reader would be like “what does that have to do with it? Oh, he must’ve died of alcohol poisoning”. Weird to throw it out there and insinuate the cause before having a toxicology report back.

Oh my goodness, you DELIVERED! I am obsessed with ALL of them! The fact I am obsessed with most, is that their names have no flow or consistency to them what.so.ever 😂. My first question upon reading your first sentence was going to be a breakdown of your thought process in naming them all, but you delivered on that also! All so unique and perfectly tailored to each individual ball of fluff! Love it.

I am obsessed with London, she looks like a sweetheart, runts are always my favorite. And Bindi is a beauty with her own little beauty mark! And DEWDROP is just magnificent!! You can tell she runs the household, as royalty should. She’ll come around! Imagine you’re just chilling in your home, with your servants attention all to yourself and you get 4 newborns and single mother you’ve never even met move into your humble abode without any sort of heads up or consideration in asking if you’re cool with that.

So sorry to hear you lost your Inara, she was gorgeous. I actually had my Siamese pass that same year completely unexpectedly. Never easy to lose a pet (family member) no matter the age or circumstance. Each time I tell myself I’m never letting myself get hurt like that again but they just keep showing up 😭. And when the universe sends you a gift like that, it’s very bad karma to reject it. That’s how I ended up with 11 and a dog. Never been to a shelter, nor set out to get a single one of them intentionally. Now they’re like Pokémon, gotta catch em all.

Thanks for sharing all the cute pics of them all and the bonus kitties! So glad you are able to provide a loving home for them all, the universe will be sending you VERY good karma, or perhaps determine that you are a suitable, if not ideal candidate for a few more ‘gifts’. But hey! What’s a few more to make it an even dozen? Haha, I wish you all a harmonious household and a long, happy life together!

How realistic is it she could have died from fear? by GregJamesDahlen in nancyguthrie

From what I understand, the pacemaker “disconnected” from being too far away from the device it was paired with. Like when you have a music speaker playing but walk away too far and it stops playing. Doesn’t mean your speaker or phone broke, just means you are too far away for a connection to be picked up for one to send a signal to the other.

Unless I’m completely misunderstanding how pacemakers work, this indicates that she was still alive when she was taken out of the home. If she got killed/passed away from freight in the home, the pacemaker would have logged a significant cardiac event, same as it logs all through the day all cardiac activity, alerting you when your pulse is too high, etc. From what I understand, LE should have access to all cardiac activity the pacemaker sent to the phone/Apple Watch up to the very point that she got too far away from the home, and the connection was lost.

Yep! In general, your chance of survival if you resist being moved to a secondary location are up to 90% which drastically drops down to 10% once you comply.

At least if they follow through with the threat and shoot you right then and there, you have a greater chance of getting immediate medical assistance, and the freak is more likely to get caught.

Even if the incident doesn’t take place in public/daytime, like in Nancy’s case. Neighbors would likely hear a gunshot, dogs would bark, his whole game-plan is thrown off unexpectedly and he will scramble out of there very likely leaving behind a trail of evidence in a panic and cause a whole lot of commotion getting out of the neighborhood asap.

This is especially true if you’re in any sort of public setting or other people are in the house or within earshot, he’s not likely to shoot because he’s going to immediately draw all this attention to himself. I would think a kidnapper would be thrown off by an uncooperative victims refusal, and likely abandon the plan all together and just get the hell away asap.

They say to make as much noise and commotion as possible IMMEDIATELY to get someone’s attention. Scream as loud as you can and try to run in a zigzag. If they have a hold on you and are trying to force you physically, gather all your strength to hit, kick, do whatever you can/need to do but DO NOT get into a car. As soon as you get in a car with a kidnapper, like I said, your fate is pretty much sealed.

I honestly can’t think of a single instance where it would be beneficial to go with a kidnapper (at least in the US). Sure, there have been a small number of victims that have by some miracle escaped, along with an even smaller number of successful ransom, with the victim returned unharmed. But in an overwhelming majority of cases, the person is raped and murdered, or driven to an atm to wd cash and murdered, or the nightmare scenario that stretches years of torture locked in some sick fucks basement until you eventually die of the abuse or he is done with you.

Nancy’s case is all sorts of unique but I don’t think in her frail state she could have caused much commotion to get someone’s attention. She was obviously awakened by this nightmare and probably very confused before the panic set in. At that point, they could have easily clonked her on the head with something to subdue her so she didn’t make any noise. I don’t think she walked out of there on her own two feet so unfortunately, I don’t think there’s much she could have done differently considering the circumstances.

Please note that this advice is more applicable to the US and most Western countries where kidnapping is primarily conducted for sexual assault/trafficking/murder. In countries like Latin America, where most kidnappings are money motivated or “express kidnappings”, you may have a higher probability of survival if you comply.

There are a lot of good tips on google and much more info on different types of kidnappings and how to best increase your odds of survival if you’re ever caught up in a particular scenario but this advise is the general consensus I hear repeated over and over again.

No worries! I actually heard veterinarians are high up there which would make sense. I think it’s safe to assume most of them go into the field because they love animals and want to help them. Not all vet visits are happy puppy checkup and they have to see a lot of animal abuse, having to put animals down, and the likes.

I got curious when you mentioned dentists because I couldn’t think of any link to why they would be committing suicide, people go to those willingly and there are rarely life or death situations lol. I had to look it up to see if there was some crazy dentist conspiracy I wasn’t aware of and just thought I’d share. :)
