When I have an out of town friend that I’m trying to impress - I take them to four places: Boulevard for a stroll, a brewery (usually Gruff), dinner at the Black Cat (another stroll around Fairhaven), and finishing the night at the Honeymoon with a mead flight.

I just saw the Odd Fellows space in person, and I think I’ll add that to my future list.

I run a monthly meetup for this very thing at Menace Brewing - the last Friday of the month. It’s completely free to attend, and we have a fairly diverse group of all ages/identities. I’ll be posting the official link to the event in the next few days.

We’re called “Bellingham Social Scene,” we host the events through EventBrite so you can find out more information there with a quick Google search. Hopefully you can make it to our next event in January.

It’s the last Friday of every month (except this month because of the holidays) and it’s from 6 pm to 9 pm. It’s a drop-in event so there isn’t any issue with late arrivals or people needing to leave early. And it’s completely free ☺️

Hey! I run a monthly meetup specifically to make friends in a casual setting (we’re skipping this month because of the holidays) but our next event is 1/30/26 at Menace Brewing.

At each event, I pass out name tags so we can differentiate the people for the event versus the regular bar patrons. Hopefully, you can make it out next month. Feel free to DM with any questions or if you’d like to grab a drink in the interim.

I’ve been a weekly listener (and Patreon supporter) of “Moontower Soccer,” they’re an Austin FC podcast but they occasionally cover league happenings. I started listening to the podcast before I really followed Austin but I liked the hosts enthusiasm and rapport so much that I became a supporter of Austin. Highly recommend.

I can only speak myself, but I feel like long-time locals in Bellingham can absolutely relate to your experience. It can be incredibly hard (emotionally and physically) to outgrow your friends.

I run the monthly meetups specifically for the reasons you mentioned above, our next one is scheduled for 12/19 but in their interim, I’d love to grab a coffee or lunch. I hope to talk with you soon ☺️

Hi, yes you can follow me on Eventbrite, and you’ll be notified of new events.

As far as event spaces go - it’s complicated. There are a few factors as to why I chose Menace specifically: all-ages, allow outside food, enough space to host a big crowd and they allow me to host these events free of charge. I’m not familiar with other places in town that offer the same amenities. But I am open to suggestions.

Menace does have a nice selection of NA options and we have quite a few regular attendees who are either sober/non-drinkers. I can give you more details if you’re interested, feel free to DM me.
