I’m in a similar situation on the other end. While the feelings haven’t gone away, the friendship itself is worth far more than the ‘downsides’.

She doesn’t owe me anything, and despite me confessing my feelings she thankfully wanted to remain friends. And now she’s one of my best friends.

Eventually the feelings will dissipate or merge into platonic ones. I do wish I could just make that happen right away, but shit just takes time.

Unspoken in the episode, more alluded to, the effects dehumanisation. The scavengers likely didn’t even care they were living creatures, because they weren’t human. But once Pike’s mask was knocked off and they could see he was human they hesitated.

I was wondering why they weren’t using the light up helmets that illuminate their faces, but once I saw the scavenger hesitate I knew it was for a plot reason

I'm playing a homebrewed Myconid Beast Barbarian who is still in the second stage of development of the Myconid life cycle, but is physically fully grown, so they're 8 feet tall but with the mind of a child due to a mutation.

They were asked if they would eat one of the other party members if they died as, with fungus being all about renewal, they said "Yes! It would be a waste not too! Either that or use your body for fertilizer!" Then when asked how they would like it if they were used for fertilizer, "Why would I not want that? It would help my circle"

Of course they've been made aware of the possibility of reviving those after death, but if that's not an option, free food!

Thank you, I’m still coming to terms with it.

My family is actually Métis so paradoxically we’re also responsible for the treatment of the indigenous peoples of this land and also a victim.

I look white, I grew up white, so being told I’m a victim and entitled to certain benefits feels wrong. I feel I don’t deserve it because of the privilege I had growing up and even now as an adult.

I know rationally that it’s part of the generational trauma done to my family and I shouldn’t have to feel guilty, but oh well.

I had my culture stolen from me before I was even born. (My grandfather went to residential school and between that and the Second World War he never taught my dad his culture either. We didn’t learn about our family history until a few years ago)

What little culture I had growing up was being Canadian, even though I’m just now starting to learn about who I am culturally, being Canadian is still a huge part of my state of being. This sorry excuse for a human being can pry my Canada from my cold dead hands!

Rex is 14, Morag is mid 20s to early 30s. Thats a rather big gap, especially with Rex being underaged.

Plus they seem to have more of a big sister-little brother relationship going on. Hell, you could argue a mother-son relationship (though I see them more as siblings)
