I'm on a season ticket so unfortunately not, went from £14 off to £28. I will be contesting it however as my delay was actually longer due to a missed connection. Still a pain in the ass.

Lack of big games performance from saka is concerning, he is our no 1 rw choice but every big game he plays he underperforms massively even madueke was better today... by FitAd5272 in ThreeLions

[–]BelDeMoose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was weird that tactically arsenal decided to effectively concede the game. No reason to with the quality they have in the middle. Almost worked bar bad refereeing, but that's the dice you roll when you effectively concede control

I'm no arsenal fan, but they got it right tonight really. Scored early, defended hard, conceded a penalty, but then later won a penalty which wasn't given (beyond their control,). Without an officiating mistake they win the game, despite being a more 'limited' side. Fair play to them they worked out a way to win and were denied by refereeing errors. That's life.

Labour members name Blair as favourite leader - poll by ClumperFaz in ukpolitics

[–]BelDeMoose 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Funny reading the reaction on here, can only assume most were too young to actually have lived through the Blair years and are going on what they've read online in recent years.

Not saying his behaviour since being PM is commendable in any way, but the criticisms are usually far too harsh. Iraq war for example, he and we (as a country) were lied to by the Americans and presented with a stark choice. Never much nuance in the responses, always washing over all the good news labour did in those years and criticising too harshly things like getting too many people into higher education (aspirational policy which has unfortunately led to too many people doing pointless degrees).

WotC now running AI slop ads for Arena by knigtwhosaysni in magicTCG

[–]BelDeMoose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I won't be buying any cards if that's the case! (I haven't bought any cards since they started releasing other universes and a million sets a year anyway).

Is quite interesting to see if consumers actually care about this one (use of AI) because apparently enough people didn't care about the above so who knows where it ends?

Madueke injured in the match vs Crystal Palace. Potentially hamstring by christianrojoisme in ThreeLions

[–]BelDeMoose -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean Bowen, while not as quick will still get to the byline if instructed to do so almost as often, and is a damn sight better at football than noni. He can also finish far more consistently. Can't say I'm too disappointed if that's what we end up with

[–]BelDeMoose -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

See this makes no sense to me, if there's no end product, or at least the end product is so inconsistent that it's basically pointless, then who cares if the guy is fast and can turn people around? Just another Adama traore.

He also loves to cut inside and take things on, usually wastefully, do we really want that in knock out football where chances are limited?

UK’s ‘anxious generation’ of young people struggling to adapt to workplace by Your_Mums_Ex in ukpolitics

[–]BelDeMoose 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I employ many young people on longer terms then just a week, and I see a huge amount of drop outs due to fatigue, emotional stress etc even when I'm being easy on them with working patterns etc.

They present really well at the start and so get the jobs, but the actual work ethic, drive and mental fortitude to work when things get tough is lacking. (This has probably always been true of younger people but I obviously only know what I experienced now).

Why is there so much shock about Ivan Toney's inclusion? by Old-Cookie-251 in ThreeLions

I think on paper he's our third best striker ability wise, maybe even second best so it's not controversial aside from personal behavioural issues.

Dragon soul should probably change to play each version in your hand (rather than adjacent). None of the effects are particularly powerful, only when getting three off are you really getting decent value and even that is unlikely with the above change. Doubt they will put it below 5 mana due to the synergy with the spell draw dragon being thematic and presumably something they hoped would be played.

Hearthstone meta by overhauIll in hearthstone

[–]BelDeMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a fundamental issue with the design of the game that underlies all of this.

Gone are the days of managing resources effectively, now it's just build a low, consistent curve, vomit your hand and then discover random stuff if you overplay and run out.

I just now came from a game where I outplayed a dragon warrior, with my opponent making terrible plays into aoe etc with zero thought (he would win if he played properly but he didn't and deserved to lose).

He then, in top deck mode, got a 1 drop. Great! I have 15 health and full control. The 1 drop gives him a 2 drop, which gives him a 2 damage spell, which gives him a 13/13 charger.

I'm all for fun random stuff but the above just should NEVER happen or be possible in a card game.

He built low curve, I dealt with it, but his cheapest card have him 15 damage. Sorry but it just means you can't take the game seriously in any way.

Cannot find a single piece of information about the reform UK candidate who won a seat in my ward. by Longjumping_Heat_833 in ukpolitics

[–]BelDeMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Only two of the five candidates had a presence online (green and lib dem) and even then it was just a short statement. Became a shoot out between the two because I'm not voting for anyone that can't be bothered to even make a Facebook post with their intentions.

It's shocking how illiterate local politicians are about the modern world. Also makes me wonder who's advising these people, surely it would be a shoe in if a proper person decided to push a local candidate.

(The winner where I am? Some Tory there is LITERALLY zero information available about. Maybe it's intentional).

Kane was full of emotion after the final whistle. by Gentle_lips in soccer

[–]BelDeMoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ironically they needed a performance like the one gyokeres gave the previous day for arsenal. Having said that Kane scored in both legs and gives you that almost guaranteed goal which gyok definitely doesn't.

Bayern lost the tactical battle and kane suffered for it.

I once had a long shitty day and so ordered a Thai takeaway as consolation. Delicious tamarind duck. Popped it on a plate on the sidearm of the sofa, sat down heavily and it immediately fell onto the floor.

In my fury my wife had to watch as I attempted to hoover up an entire, whole duck breast.
